Ok, here we go, pics as promised: Shot of the site from the driveway, looking over the garage, and towards the back of the house Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Shot taken from the front left of the house, from Bed 1 down to the back of the house Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The aforementioned work that was done: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Steel reinforcement for the slab has been delivered as well: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We have a bunch of pictures and a couple of videos that were also taken during the day when they were doing the work, but they are on the taken with the phone camera, and we haven't gotten around to getting them off there yet, so you'll just have to wait on them Bek We also got an email from our neighbour's yesterday saying that our plumbing had been put in, so I'll have to pop around tonight and get some more shots of all the work that has been done since we were there on Tuesday (hopefully lots) - the SS said on Tuesday that we'd be looking at a slab Monday/Tuesday next week, so looking very forward to that, but not the invoice which will follow Re: Our Saville at Georges Fair 26Apr 18, 2010 5:23 pm Bek I saw a beautiful concrete slab today.... hmmm, maybe you saw me running round all excited with a camera in hand.... It totally surprsed me seeing it there, we went bu on Friday night, as our neighbour said that the drainage had been done, we were extremely surprised to see a slab sitting there waiting for us, looking all pretty-like. Re: Our Saville at Georges Fair 27Apr 18, 2010 8:03 pm We did our usual weekly drive by to see our patch of dirt (which is now a patch of grass, how lovely) and I was telling my husband that my new 'friends' house has just begun so lets go take a look at their dirt... and low and behold - instead we saw a lovely looking concrete slab!!!!! Looking good... hope the rest of your build goes up just as quick. Re: Our Saville at Georges Fair 28Apr 21, 2010 12:26 pm So, as I said, our neighbour's told us that the plumbing had been done, and waffle pods delivered on the Thursday, so we went by on Friday night to check it out. We bought our block last December and the valuation for the land came back the purchase price, but since going back to the bank (about 2 weeks ago, took us that long to get the building contract) to get the total valuation - to cover house and land, they have undervalued the land by 50k and undervalued the house by 90k??? This seem outrageous to me?! Was your valuation this out? and did you have problems with your house valuation? Re: Our Saville at Georges Fair - It's Slabtastic 30Apr 28, 2010 12:34 pm Mellarnie Hi, i read that you had problems with your bank and the valuation, do you mind me asking which bank? This seem outrageous to me?! Was your valuation this out? and did you have problems with your house valuation? We WERE with Westpac, but have changed to a different bank (obviously), they undervalued our land by 42k, as they used Preston's as a comparisson, rather than Georges Fair estate. both the banks came in spot on with the home valuation though. Edit: Finally got the slab invoice too - the slab was poured on the 17th, invoiced on the 23rd... Re: Our Saville at Georges Fair - I'm Being Framed 31Apr 29, 2010 9:25 am OMG, just opened an email our neighbour's sent us last night (wishing I had opened up emails after dinner), and apparently our frame is up!!! Considering the SS told me las Friday that it was going to be delivered on the 30th, this was quite a surprise to say the least. DW is off for a playdate in the area this morning, so is going to go out to check it out and get a few pics, I won't be able to go until Saturday morning unfortunately, when we meeting the neighbours and a fencing guy to discuss fences and retaining walls, sigh. Re: Our Saville at Georges Fair - I'm Being Framed 32Apr 29, 2010 10:06 am OMG, just got a call from Jo and she says the frame is complete and the roof trusses are going up!!!!! They certainly are speeding along for the moment, not that I'm complaining at all Re: Our Saville at Georges Fair - Kinda Have A Roof Over My 34Apr 29, 2010 1:00 pm ohhhhh yes I was with Jo this morning and I am super excited for you both!!! So exciting!!!! let's hope they keep with this speed for the entire build!!! FINGERS CROSSED! Re: Our Saville at Georges Fair - Kinda Have A Roof Over My 35Apr 30, 2010 2:02 pm Quick update: Common bricks will be delivered next week, but the face bricks are on backorder (and the brickies are running 3 weeks behind) so no brickwork for a while Fortunately, fascia and guttering will be done next week, then the roof will start going on the week after that We are also trying to raise a bilding variation to shift one of the sliding doors closer to the corner, so that they look even, let's see how much they charge us for that!!! Re: Our Saville at Georges Fair - Kinda Have A Roof Over My 36May 03, 2010 12:06 pm Ok, so because we are shifting one of the sliding doors to the Alfresco, they have only installed one of the two, the only problem is, they have installed the one we are moving into the hole for the other one, and taken that one away (or it has been stolen - no idea).... Called the SS to meet onsite on Thursday to have a quick look, make sure nothing else has been stuffed up (can't tell if anything else is wrong from outside the fence), and he reckons that we have walkthroughs with him just before the gyprock goes up and then again at some other time, completely contradicting what our CSO told us (just call him and give him at least 24hrs notice and you can go as often as you like, as long as he is available). Re: Our Saville at Georges Fair - Kinda Have A Roof Over My 38May 05, 2010 6:43 am Well, the inspection thing is all sorted now, as per our contract we are allowed on site with our SS when we give him reasonable notice, so we having an inspection just after the roof goes on Re: Our Saville at Georges Fair - Kinda Have A Roof Over My 39May 05, 2010 10:41 am Another update: common bricks have arrived, plumbing rough-in has been done (I think I noticed a problem - will bring it up with SS at our inspection), and our neighbour says that roof tiles have been delivered yesterday Hi, we live in an area where the black soil is prone to a lot of movement. We have an old 50's house with masonite everywhere and nails popping out, warping, rusted etc.… 0 4499 Yes, I have. But, I haven't paid yet. They know they did not do proper jobs and I sent the email re: final payment, I cannot pay. They said, we will do 2nd PCI. Since… 2 5461 We hired Darbecca to do every stage inspection, and I strongly recommend them to anyone that asks me. They were amazing. Thorough reports with photos at every stage,… 6 7083 |
