Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 02, 2010 8:24 pm Hi We are about to sign contracts for our new home tomorrow. We got a letter back from the conveyancer today stating that our house is subject to 10% GST. My house quote is currently sitting at about $252k - no one has mentioned anything about GST. Is it likely that it would already be quoted in the price??? Can any one advise what happened to them- did your quote jump up 20 - 25 k on contract day??? Surely not ??? HELP - Worried!!! Re: HELP!! Is GST included in the price of the home?? 2Mar 02, 2010 8:28 pm each builder lists it differently in their quotes. We got about 3-4 quotes when starting our build some were with GST and some without... but unfortunately in building a house you will need to pay 10% gst... check your contract carefully it should be listed and if it isn't they will probably try to sneak it in before you sign Re: HELP!! Is GST included in the price of the home?? 3Mar 02, 2010 8:32 pm Hi Nikkit Our house price quoted was including GST only when the contract was done did they mention how much the GST actually was, if someone quotes you a price with out GST they must tell you plus GST. I think the quote includes GST unless it says otherwise. Re: HELP!! Is GST included in the price of the home?? 5Mar 02, 2010 9:49 pm OMG! I am in the process of finalising a contract and realised that I hadn't checked on GST. My house is about the same as yours - $250k or so. I checked our correspondance and one quote did not state whether GST was included or not - we then had a revised tender and that confirmed that the price was INCLUSIVE of gst. Phew. I'm sure yours will be the same, Nikkit. Re: HELP!! Is GST included in the price of the home?? 7Jun 01, 2011 1:31 pm Anyone know the answers to these ? Q1) Are the base-house-price advertised by volume builder's websites inclusive of GST? Q2) When you paid the initial application deposit (e.g. 1K) for the volume builder to do soil test, prepare contracts etc. you were given a base-house-price. Was that inclusive of GST ? My problem is, I'm about to sign a contract with a builder. A few months ago, I gave them an initial 1K deposit (so that they could do soil test, draft plans, prepare contract, etc). At the time, their advertised website price (and the base-house-price quoted on the sheet of paper when I paid the deposit) didn't include GST. I assumed it was GST inclusive. When I got the contract last week, they slapped a GST on everything, including GST on top of the base-house-price. What has been your experience when you paid your initial application deposit? Did the house price include GST? hey there! π so, itβs kinda common for standard drawer depths to be around 500mm since most cabinets use this size to fit the usual runners… 3 20906 Hi, you've probably already resolved this, however, Commbank will probably pay the funds to you after you send evidence the work is done regardless the change in the quotes. 1 35326 Wow I hadn't realised things had gotten that pricey in just a couple of years since I built, that is crazy with how much land is now costing if you aren't lucky enough to… 3 7112 |
