The tower is just up the top of the hill towards commercial road!! Chad said it was going to be good because the tower is RIGHT THERE.. Wahoo, we had awesome Internet at the old place so I can't wait to have it back... any kind of Internet back actually. Our Preston @ the 'Coast' - Nothing New 1264Feb 22, 2011 7:55 am Haaa, they sure did get it right! The rain was crazy & I am glad it slowed down or it would have started moving towards the house & fling down the side to the neighbours. Re: Our Preston @ the 'Coast' - Nothing New 1266Feb 22, 2011 10:36 am $2500 for a car service, that's crazy. Yeah it is crazy, they want to do all this work to it which yes, does require it but it isnt urgent. However, DH took his work car in to get serviced and they said the EXACT same thing to him about his Ford 08 ute. Urghhh Re: Our Preston @ the 'Coast' - Nothing New 1268Feb 22, 2011 7:12 pm hmmm sounds like you need to get another opinion from someone else.... sounds *******! Re: Our Preston @ the 'Coast' - Nothing New 1269Feb 22, 2011 8:45 pm We are definitely getting another opinion. It was just ridiculous. Really all cars probably need so much work but who has $2500 just floating around to go to the car man because he think he can just 'suggest' things that need to be fixed! Rant over... My thoughts are with NZ, so sad that so many people have lost their lives & loved ones Re: Our Preston @ the 'Coast' - Nothing New 1270Feb 23, 2011 3:45 pm It is sad what has happened in NZ. I just can't imagine going to work one day, and having an earthquake cause the building to fall down around me. Sorry to go way off the current subject but here goes; I just yesterday found your post after searching on google for land available at "The Coast". Congratulations on your new house. As many have said, great choice of colours, bricks etc.Oh and I actually like the contrasting downpipes on the portico(MTCW).We are trying to find a decent block down south somewhere as we are considering building a new home. We are also considering building with Hickies so I have to ask the question, now that you have and if you dont mind answering it; Have you been overall happy with them as a builder? Kind regards, Shane. Ok we've ordered a moat. Are the alligators extra? Re: Our Preston @ the 'Coast' - Nothing New 1276Mar 07, 2011 8:15 pm Just dropping it to say Hi and catch up with what's happening with you. We just got our free satelite dish. It's awesome. Handover February 2011 Happy with our home Re: Our Preston @ the 'Coast' - Finally, something to report 1277Mar 17, 2011 9:58 am RobinRed - We finally have ours too.. OMG, it is AMAZING! Oh how I love to have internet! I will be at your thread shortly to see what I have missed. Re: Our Preston @ the 'Coast' - Finally, something to report 1278Mar 17, 2011 10:00 am Well... It has been forever since anything has happened to write about AND we have INTERNET... YAY finally! I can now keep up with everything properly... I have missed out on sooooo much. Some have had handovers and I have missed out on half of their build! We are currently doing the backyard. We have had our little retaining wall put in and as I type we have a concrete base being poured for our shed & rainwater tank. On Monday the whole backyard is getting grass – YAY *does a little dance* I cannot wait! DH & I are going to be doing a little garden bed just outside of the alfresco ( I need Fu’s help on this one ) We are going to be using http://www.greenlines.com.au/ to do the edging.. We just need to choose what kind of plants we are going to put in and how to make the dry hard ground liveable for them. The council are going to come out and put in an extra driveway cut out and get a concrete driveway on the other side of the house so DH can park his Ute there instead of on the road. I am not a HUGE fan on cars being parked on roads esp. when driveways & garages are there for a reason. It makes the roads look ugly – IMO! We have so many houses going up in the street – the house next door is being bricked today, two other frames have gone up, another is a day or two away from moving in. Our neighbours are lovely & can’t wait till the street is finished. Re: Our Preston @ the 'Coast' - Finally, something to report 1279Mar 17, 2011 10:09 am Welcome back Cooped, glad to hear things are moving along with your landscaping, look forward to some before/after pics. We are still waiting for an internet solution, I know how frustrating, thank god I can get on at work otherwise I would have no clue whats going on. We have a dongle thing at the moment and it's so frustrating using it as I reception is really bad as well. We are waiting to hear whats happening with the NBN, apparently our area is supposed to be one of the first ones rolled out, so we are sweating on this thing getting going, in the meantime will just have to struggle along. I looked up greenlines website and you wouldnt believe it, they are five minutes up the road from where I work, so thanks for the contact. Good luck with the backyard. Congrats on getting your backyard started. I'll look forward to seeing photos. I saw your comment on Robbie's thread about 3 month maintenance. We had the guy that does the 3 month maintenance out on Monday, to do the PCI items that hadn't been done (still need to do the 3 month maintenance). He was really great. Very thorough. Did what we asked him to do, touched up some paint that we hadn't asked him to do, and repainted all the corners. I was really impressed with him. contract signed: Nov 09 Released to Construction: 23 Jul 10 Slab poured: 9 Aug 10 Frame completed: 30 Aug 10 Windows & Gutters: 7 Sep 10 Bricks: 15 - 23 Sep 10 Roof: 24 Sep 10 Gyprock: 20 Oct 10 Lockup: 25 Oct 10 Kitchen: 27 Oct 10 Tiling: 6 - 9 Nov 10 Painting: 17 Nov 10 Carpet: 30 Nov 10 PCI: 15 Dec 10 Handover: 17 Dec 10 https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=35943 Anybody know any good and reasonably priced Air conditioning contractors/companies that could install a ducted air conditioning system in the Central Coast NSW for a small… 0 9804 of course there are legal avenues.
