Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Bedroom locations for young children 21Aug 25, 2007 11:50 am Location of childrens bedroom is one you need to think about we had a av jennings house is sydney and the main bedroom was at the front and the other bedrooms were at the back .It was a very big problem with our son 9 months at the time he would not sleep in the room at all it didnot get any better as he got older so when he was 3 years old we had enough and sold it and brought a house were the rooms were close by.We are building a new house now he does not have the problem now we tested in out in the rental we are in now,The house we are building the rooms are not together, Its a problem with new homes.My son is 11 now Re: Bedroom locations for young children 22Aug 26, 2007 6:34 pm Something I see as being missed here is the emotional abandonment a young child (typically up to age 4) feels if it is seperated from it's mother.
There is a an emotional connection created by the proximity of mother to child until this age - and when their bedroom is at other end fo the house - a young child feels abandoned due to the energy of it's mother not being near. Keep it in mind folks - Might help you with the reasons why they took so long to stop sleeping near you. Same applies to daytime and playtime - Thye need to know that mum is nearby - which is why kids like to be in the kitchen etc when mums cooking etc etc Yes it's a pain - your you time is taken up - but hey - giving this lobving nourisment for a few years - helps the development of s strong and confident person.
