Hi all,
Does anyone know what is meant by common stud?
I assume common studs are the vertical timber which support the top plate and bottom plate which are space evenly between both frame plates, that is the ones which the plaster lining and other fittings attached to. I thought this was just called 'studs'.
Reason I ask is that I went out on site to measure the stud spacing to see whether it is according to plan and noticed that the chippies spaced it at 600mm cts while plan indicate Common Studs - 90x45 F5 @ 450mm cts.
I need to know that I measured the right thing. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
