I thought that those building with PD might be interested in their follow up service.
I have been felling a bit cheesed of with PD lately because there are a number of small issues dating back to handover that have still not been addressed. The building supervisor has promised to deal with things but I feel that he has lost interest because the house is finished. Tradesman have promised to turn up and then never been heard from again (the heating guy was meant to return and put in the duct forgotten in the bathroom, the ducted vacuuming man was meant to return to put in the forgotten dustpan in the kitchen). After a really extensive email from my husband, some of these things have slowly started to be rectified.
Since we moved into the house quite a few weeks after handover, the 3 month check has arrived quite quickly. It is only supposed to address new issues, not those hanging over from handover.
I wasn't here for the inspection this morning but my husband said that the maintenance supervisor was excellent. He spent about 2 hours going over the house and was really thorough. He noticed lots of things that we hadn't and had lots of good advice. There is an extensive list of follow up items (mostly minor things) and dates have already been set for them to be fixed.
So my faith in PD has been restored. Of course I'll be a lot happier when everything has been fixed!!
Apparently they do a 12 month check too.

You too, huh?!
We experienced the same thing. In fact, we've been in 4 months now & we *still* don't have some things finished. Maybe we have the same site supervisor...lol.
Our maintenance guy has recently quite smoking after 30-odd years. So he's getting super-grumpy with the people who were supposed to be doing stuff to our house & has kicked a few butts into gear. It's great.
Remember, though...at 12 months you have to contact them - they don't automatically contact you.

Good thing at the handover is to sign it with all things listed for correction.
We are just going through our 6 month maintenance waranty. The maintenance guy inspected the house and nothing happened for the next 6 weeks. We finally called himand ask what's happened. He was surprised as he sent faxes to companies to contact us and arrange their coming. He ded it once again and now people are contacting us. The electrician is real pain and we still din't get him in to rectify issues.
