Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 21, 2010 11:14 am Can anyone help please? I had trouble selecting the wall colour as I planned plain pure white, but it turned out it's an upgrade, so we didn't buy it. So, the next best thing was an off-white. Of course, I selected one colour, but I'm thinking of changing it into one of these below (or even something similar). I like white coffee tones, especially the lighter ones, but it's hard to picture which exact shade I'd be happiest with. I have quite a lot of sample swatches. Moon River looks a bit too dark for me on the sample, but looks gorgeous on themax's pics So, can you help? My closest selection is below. Does anyone have internal walls done in one of these colours (they are all Taubmans/Bristol colours): - Antique Ivory - Moon River (I know themax has it, anyone else?) - Fume Blanc - Moonlight Frost - Cream Torte - Arizona White - Ice Cap - Willow Herb - Dove Wing HELP My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... Re: Taubmans internal wall colour (Antique Ivory?) 2Feb 21, 2010 12:14 pm Hi there Lex, a few things need to come into account when chosing internal wall colours such as what colour/tones your floors will be & also kitchen etc. colours are. At the end of the day you want everything to flow. We already have our floor tiles/carpets chosen so i just get samples of paint & match them up that way. It's funny how paint colours look very different when put up against chosen floor tiles/carpets. Some bring out the yellow tone & others looked too pink when against a brown carpet. Hope this helps some, good luck with your decision Cooper's Build - Perth NOR viewtopic.php?f=31&t=30525 Prelim- mid Sept 2009, Pre Start 2 Feb, Siteworks- 21 April 2010, Slab- 10 May, Deliveries- all by 26 May Bricking- 28 May - 26 June, Roof complete 5 Aug, Float 28 Aug, Lock up 16 Sept Cabinets 1 Oct, Tiling 22 Oct, PCI 18 Nov, KEYS 3 Dec 2010 MOVED IN 17 DEC 2010 Re: Taubmans internal wall colour (Antique Ivory?) 3Feb 21, 2010 12:30 pm Thanks, Cooper, you are spot on about it. We'll have everything pretty much white in the kitchen, and timber floors. So, any of those colours will do, but the issue is choosing the right one for us. I was hoping that someone would have their walls done in any of the colours I listed, just to help me see the impact of them on a large scale. In the end, we can always repaint, but it will be hard to do around the staircase (the issue of height with no easy access - we'd do it ourselves). I did a quick search on some of the colours, but pretty much nothing consistent came up, so I gave up ... I'll check these out ... in the meantime, if anyone has Antique Ivory, it's a tad lighter than the Moon River ... or Moonlight Frost ??? My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... Re: Taubmans internal wall colour (Antique Ivory?) 16Feb 24, 2010 12:38 pm Pacific Pearl is a "cold" white (not our cup of tea). It has a very noticeable grey tinge. I actually took a sample of it (thinking it would pass as "white") and painted against our white ceilings - looked very grey/blue and cold and very dark when contrasted with true white ceilings. If our ceilings were also lightly tinted, it would be far less noticeable, but there is no way we'd get anything other than pure white for ceilings . Actually, we love truly white trims, it gives everything a nice crisp, neat, well defined frame, and freshens up everything. We're only after the warm whites. We always liked the ones with yellow/sun-shiny tinge. I also always knew that white coffee shades are much fancier and more modern, but could not find the right shade. Some of them looked too cream/"dirty" or like lighter cardboard boxes ... so it was hard, given a limited standard range. My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... Re: Taubmans internal wall colour (Antique Ivory?) 18Feb 25, 2010 8:29 pm try Aria Ivory, if your builder has you selecting from the bristol/taubmans colour range its the light box colour you speak of. Or if its dulux try seed pearl or seed pearl half is like a light coffee colour. Re: Taubmans internal wall colour (Antique Ivory?) 19Feb 26, 2010 8:15 am Aria Ivory - thanks swarvy, I'll check if that's a standard allowed colour, but ATM I can't find that piece of paper listing the colours !!
