Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 19, 2010 4:40 pm I've built with nrk builders which took for ever to finish. My partner is planning to build an investment house and looking for a good builder with some recommendations. We don't want to consider nrk this time. This builder never worried about the missing schedule at all. I found another guy who built with them and got it delivered late but hasn't paid any penalties for the delay. They've pushed him to sign few variations on very small things and then added enough number of days to avoid penalties. They somehow push the customer to pay for their invoices even before the stage is finished. Somehow get 90% of the price of the total project even before finishing 70%. Then they start playing all the tricks using the holes in HIA contract. It's always good to go with a builder with some recommendations. Re: Have you found builders whom you can recommend to friends ? 2Feb 19, 2010 4:47 pm Sounds like you've had a terrible run We were ONLY looking at builders recommended by friends and family. We were considering a very reputable builder called Scott Park Homes when an uncle in the gov. dept for housing and infrastructure put us on to Redink Homes (which is owned by the founder of SPH). We've been treated very well and the building has gone very smoothly - I would not hesitate to recommend them to friends and family I think word of mouth is the best advertising that there is. We have had brilliant service all round and there is a feeling of friendship there but also expertise! I foudn they are also brilliant on price for the promo section ( I dont know pricing for the other houses) We are building the benchmark which we got for an excellent price but it is also quite a big home! I would def recommend the builder to my family! Funny enough my father in law is a building supervisor and he told us to go with redink which we are so grateful for as we would be spending a lot more money for a smaller house with another company! Re: Have you found builders whom you can recommend to friends ? 6Feb 24, 2010 12:40 am Another recommendation to redink from a current client Nothing is too much trouble for them, even for a self confessed pain in the *ss client. Everything from the salesman to the CLO is a great professional experience, they really look after you. You wont find better bang for your buck in there promotional homes. When I was looking for a builder I gave a list of name to a family member who works with a soil test & engineering firm and he gave me the list back on who he would use and not use based on who foundation work is good and who pays on time. I made a horrible decision going with NRK builders. My personal recommendation is not to choose this builder. Very unprofessional and poor customer service. They sent invoices way before the work is completed and against what is specified in HIA contract. Once 90% of the money is paid then they take half an year to handover the house and may be more. Also at the time of handover they try to miss the specifications and try to play the games. dishipro I've built with nrk builders which took for ever to finish. Re: Have you found builders whom you can recommend to friend 10May 15, 2016 11:13 pm I have been very disappointed by nrk. Only 6 months in and the whole house is falling apart- literally. In the first month I had to replace all the door knobs in the house. 50% of them were fell off and the other 50% were difficult to move and squeaking loudly. All of the doorknobs were rusted inside. The internet cables were damaged and had to be excavated for replacement. The roof tiles were poorly placed and now parts of the roof are damaged and need repair due to animals nesting. The plumbing is atrocious. The sink tap burst. The ensuite toilet fails to flush. The water temperature is never stable. Water leaks in various areas of the house. The paint job is sloppy. The sliding windows are jammed with debris and rocks. Paint smears on windows. The cracks in the doorways and walls were painted over to conceal the mistakes in the supports of the house... Re: Have you found builders whom you can recommend to friend 11Feb 07, 2018 2:26 pm Yes I have to agree with all of you who have written negative reviews for NRK Builders, I also had a terrible experience, they stated things would be done several times and in good faith I trusted them, only to never have these works completed. In the end I had to get the work done myself and pay separately. When I pushed them to pay for this they firstly totally ignored all of my attempts of calling and emailing and when I did eventually get on to them they became aggressive. Do not use these builders, they clearly have issues and cannot complete works satisfactorily, and most certainly do not trust anything they say or do!! Thanks mate. Yeah good points!
