Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Build time on Contract - is this average??? 21Feb 21, 2010 10:15 am My one seems too be way out compared to the rest 28sq - 164 days.........I know it's already going to take longer than that cause we've had soooooo much rain Not sad because of the rain just that it's making the build move sooooooooo slowly. Re: Build time on Contract - is this average??? 22Feb 21, 2010 10:47 am We've been given 24 weeks + 4 weeks over xmas = 196 days Contracts signed 24/08/2009 Starting week 26 or day 182 this week and have been given a mid march handover so will be approx 29 week build = 203 days in total... We have been given 3 extensions due to rain and delays when installing timber floors from outside contractor about 9 days in total...so i'm assuming we are roughly on track.. Cheers Brigette Re: Build time on Contract - is this average??? 23Feb 21, 2010 11:14 am Something else that probably needs to be taken into consideration, is the number of changes you make to the original plan. The volume builders, have everything worked out for their standard plans, but when you move a wall here, or add a few feet there, it changes things, so I could understand modified/changed plans would also add to the time (again to allow the builder time to make sure they get everything right). Anyway, just my 2c. Cheers Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17197 You talk about deletions, are they variations or PS and PC adjustments? pleas list them 1 16455 9 24637 |
