Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 18, 2010 7:16 pm Hi all, We plan on using Blue Rio bricks (I think!) and have been having a play around on the StudioM website to see what our Facade may look like. Just thought I would post the pics I have to get any comments on what other HomeOne-rs think is the pick of the two!! http://i673.photobucket.com/albums/vv95/shellb78/IMG_0001.jpg or darker render http://i673.photobucket.com/albums/vv95/shellb78/IMG_0004.jpg Build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=32574 Re: Comments on External colour selections 2Feb 18, 2010 7:29 pm I don't think I have got the render colours quite right so would appreciate any advice on colours also. Basically we are after either a light or a dark render. Thank in advance! Maybe the render should just be a bit lighter brown? Caz & Co ALL MOVED IN!! Now comes all the hard work-decorating.... Maybe it should be the same as the roof. The portico pillar being white doesn't contrast enough with the garage door. Everything everyone has said has made me go "yeah- thats what it needs!" I can't wait to get back on the StudioM website and change the colours around a little bit as advised!! But that will have to wait until tomorrow!! Mum was grumpy this morning after too many late nights so I should get in bed to avoid a repeat tomorrow! Build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=32574 Re: Comments on External colour selections 8Feb 19, 2010 8:13 am I really really like the lighter coloured render! Re: Comments on External colour selections 9Feb 19, 2010 8:45 am I like the first one, but I agree that either the garage door or the portico needs to be a different colour. Could you use a darker colour on the portico? Love the bricks... Nice contrast and clarity. In addition I'd consider having gutters and downpipes in black to emphasise the lines. It could be possible to play a bit with the colour of the windows frames. The current white looks good but black might add more effect considering the door is black as well. It should look very good on the white walls, shouldn't be a problem with the brick-wall but it is always to see rather than guess Garage door, IMO could be left either white or to be the same colour as the roof. I wouldn't add any additional colour ... built a Promenade with Clarendon. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=25104 20-10-09 - excavation and piering completed ... 12-04-10 - Basins fixed. Not sure about the colour of the gutters - they look brown? There's nothing to tie it in with the rest of the house - I'd go either the same colour as the fascia (surfmist?) or the same colour as the roof. Then again, maybe they're not brown, and it is just the clarity of the images making it seem so. Re: Comments on External colour selections 13Feb 19, 2010 7:52 pm Thanks everyone! Have had a play on StudioM and have come up with another 2 (taking on board everyones comments of course!) Somewoman- the gutters were brown!! Don't know how that happened! I just thought it was just the image making them look brown! Brown definately is the wrong colour for the gutters!
