We finally settled on our block of land yesterday, and received the letter in the mail from the conveyancer today to say its finalised etc. and the bank collected title on our behalf and will lodge change of ownership etc. So I'm wondering - for those of you who have begun building - what did your builder need as evidence of ownership? I hope I don't have to wait on the bank to get me some paperwork (ie copy of title or something), that could take half a century! Did anyones builder just accept the conveyancers letter saying you've bought it? Oh and I was SO lucky! After paying only $800 in fees to the conveyancer to do... oh yes heaps of work... they were generous enough to give me a $25 discount voucher in case I needed their services again! A copy of the title is great, but it can take quite some time for the transfer to be registered, so you could be waiting.... We were lucky in that our old house was so small (86 square metres) compared to the new house, they were able to take enough readings around the old backyard house before… 8 38168 The concreter will take and reuse.
