Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 15, 2010 1:38 pm Hey, We are in the middle of building our new house. The roof has just recently been put on. Whilst all looks good we have noticed quite a few scratches on the colourbond steel (which we paid a fortune for). Can we expect the builders to fix it up? Replace the sheet? What leg do we have to stand on etc etc? Thanks Re: Colourbond roof - scratched? 3Feb 15, 2010 1:51 pm Markings are visible from standing on the ground. Several markings are on the actual roof, say 10cm deep scratches, and one guttering that they have put up looks like they have played football with it. No dents. Re: Colourbond roof - scratched? 4Feb 15, 2010 2:00 pm If you can easily see it from the ground there is no argument. If you need to get up on a ladder etc then it wil be hard to justify. The scratches in the roof if they can be seen from ground then they too should be changed. In my experience try a compromised approached. Pic out all the faults but then ask them to repair the ones that can easily been seen. Do you know which company installed your roof? Re: Colourbond roof - scratched? 5Feb 15, 2010 2:12 pm Not sure. We are building with L homes and we dont have any communication with out site manager, as everything has to go through head office.
I havent used a ladder to look at the markings, so should be fine. Cheers. The painted render is a bit chalky to the touch. To prepare the surface for best adhesion, what would you recommend? Also, given that there must be some… 6 8512 Yes i guess this is one of the main reason as i checked one post foundation 4 9996 2 9449 |
