Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Help with Monterey Q2 plan!!! 21Feb 15, 2010 8:31 pm I have never seen a laundry between living areas. I wonder why it is not near the bathroom, garage or at the back-side corner of the house. Re: Help with Monterey Q2 plan!!! 22Feb 15, 2010 10:03 pm Thank you so much everyone for your input.....you've given me alot to think about. Has anyone building this home enquired if you can actually remove the part wall???......maybe it's not even an option. Moonos21 do you know how much they are charging you to widen the BIR's and to add sliding doors as I would like to do this also! I know you can remove the wall completely and have the area as open space looking from the kitchen. Kelly72 Moonos21 do you know how much they are charging you to widen the BIR's and to add sliding doors as I would like to do this also! Not sure, don't think it was much. I'll check at home tonight Re: Help with Monterey Q2 plan!!! 24Feb 16, 2010 3:11 pm Thanks Moonos....that's great to know. When I telephoned them and asked if the part wall can be removed they said they weren't sure and it's something they would have to put in writing and request from Head Office. So you were advised it definetly could be done were you? Re: Help with Monterey Q2 plan!!! 25Feb 16, 2010 7:33 pm Kelly72 Thanks Moonos....that's great to know. When I telephoned them and asked if the part wall can be removed they said they weren't sure and it's something they would have to put in writing and request from Head Office. So you were advised it definetly could be done were you? Are we talking about the part wall between the kitchen and the living room? If so then one of the options, similar to the alternative living/casual/laundry option was to remove that wall and have an open area. There would still be a wall seperating the living/casual areas. I checked our final tender and I can't see that they've charged us to widen and increase the height of the wardrobes which makes sense seeing as though it means less plaster for them anyway. The sliding doors cost $477 although we went the cheaper option and got Vinyl sliding doors. We saw them in a display somewhere and they actually look pretty good. You can also get mirrored sliding doors Re: Help with Monterey Q2 plan!!! 27Feb 17, 2010 10:10 am Ari The wider wardrobes are on the plan though yes? You dont want them coming back later and saying they forgot to add it and its too late. Yeah, they're on the plan. And the higher doors. I've checked out the frame and they've constructed the wardrobes for the bigger dimensions. With the way the bedrooms are, there is still plenty of room. Re: Help with Monterey Q2 plan!!! 28Mar 22, 2010 10:25 pm Hi, We are building the Q3 version and we decided to shift the laundry with the TV area option for a better layout... Henley does have an option to swap the rooms for around $250... I think!! btw the plans posted above are for Q3 not Q2 =) This is a very tight fit, I'm not sure if you'll be able to achieve what you've described. Would you consider accessing the separate toilet from the laundry? If so maybe… 1 11258 we need accurate dimensions as well as the number of bedrooms and bathrooms needed etc to make specific suggestions but, based on estimated rooms sizes, it could be… 1 578 i thought the flipped plan initially but bec i want narrow pathway from entry to dining (dont like bend), also cannot fit the… 7 17286 |
