Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Koolsville's New Pad - Keys due 8 October, roof not fini 101Oct 08, 2010 11:38 pm Did you get your keys?!?!?! Maybe we had the same painter.. there is grit at the bottom of every door frame, as well as drip marks. The paintwork is ****, to be honest! Ohhh.... I do hope you got your keys! Oceanic with Nautilus upgrades. Handover 8 September 2010 Re: Koolsville's New Pad - we have keys!! 102Oct 14, 2010 8:28 pm Yes! We have keys... Picked them up from a new CLO (ours is nolonger with DA ). We ended up accepting them Fri before everything was finished, but DA gave us a letter guaranteeing all would be fixed. Bristile sent out a guy this week who replaced about 40 tiles, cleaned up the mortar and painted the clay. It's never going to be a great roof, but it looks so much better, so we are happy (finally). Painter came back Monday to finish some bits. Bathroom tiler coming back to fix bad patch up jobs done when pipes leaked. Scratched Oven front and cupboard doors/drawers to come. Scratched Colourbond gutters and facia being replaced too (yes, Jbarry, they will replace them, so just ask). Jason windows apparently coming to fix scratches on frames. Have been sealing and painting all week... Bedrooms and wet areas left to finish... Exhausted!! Looking good though - all the stress and anxiety seems to fade away when it's finally yours. We fought for it, but we have a lovely house now. Back concrete done yesterday, aggregate driveway on Friday. Flooring starts on 25 Oct. I plan to post some photos when the driveway is finished and the rock cladding is done, so stay tuned!! I want to take some when the rock cladding guy is done so you get the full effect!! He should be finished by Friday. Oh my hands hurt from so much painting... back at work for a break! Sealed the bathrooms/laundry yesterday, and scrubbed them. Can't get the grout cleaned in the ensuite - my nice white grout is brown and lumpy - I think it has been permanently damaged from when they flooded it. Calls for re-grouting in my opinion. Waiting to hear what they say. Had a guy in yesterday to repair the bath from where the tilers chipped and scratched it. Looks like new again Still waiting for new oven facia, replacement vinyl wrap draws/doors and replacement gutters/facia. Oh, and Jason Windows if they are actually coming back... Interesting colours - don't think I saw your red door before - definitelly making a statement against the clean crisp colours of your elevation Can't wait to see you internal furnishings. What colour are your internal walls? BTW did you get DAH to do your exposed agg driveway and footpaths or you had somebody after handover do it for you? Your facade is really nice. Re: Koolsville's New Pad - some photos!! 112Dec 07, 2010 3:07 pm Hey! Still having issues... still! Can nothing be done right the first time? Still waiting for gutters to be replaced (have been on the footpath for 2 weeks waiting). Still waiting for the oven facia to be replaced. Still waiting for Jason Windows to fix the scratches on the windows. Landscape plumber was there yesterday to install the retic valve, and cut our phone line! Wardrobe installer there yesterday to install new wardrobe, put one of the rail hangers to close to the wall so the hangers don't fit. Took chips out of the wall and scratched my ceiling (but just about everyone that does something managers to do that!). Having other issues that I'd rather not talk about! How much bad luck do we deserve??? Oh, and we STILL haven't sold our other house! Backyard is getting there - decking is done and oiled and we have started putting some plants in. Front landscaping will be done on 17th Dec. I know - I keep promising photos and I don't take any. I just want it to all be finished first. Haven't even got handles on the cupboards yet! Need to get the rest of the blinds, finish the kitchen - overhead cupboards and splashback, handles on the cabinets (we have half of them and are too scared to drill the holes!), carport at the rear of the garage, some more plants, AIR CONDITIONING/HEATING... Gutter company came to replace the scratched gutters at the front of the house, and only replaced one of them (ignored the small scratched section right next to it) and window company was supposed to come back when they are in the area on a Saturday to fix the scratched window/door frames, but haven't shown up yet... Oh, and they finally repaced the scratched oven face with an oven face that was scratched! They've finally beaten me down, I give up. There isn't much on our 6 monthly check list yet - the usual cracked cornices and a crack where the gables join on the front of the house, and a bathroom tile grout check (was never happy with that). It was a hard year last year, but I LOVE my new house Building in Cockburn, WA, with Dale Alcock https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=29597 Siteworks 9 February 2010 Slab 15 February 2010 Bricks commenced 6 March 2010 Roof commenced 30 March 2010 BIR Submitted 14 May 2010 Lockup 27 May 2010 PCI 22 September 2010 Keys 8 October 2010 Roof finally finished 13 Oct Moved in 30 October 2010 Re: Koolsville's New Pad - Finally!!
