We are happy with that Thanks again Renee. It must be the beading what they were referring to , which is usually standard with all the Hard wood providers. as said, its 1/4th the lenght of regular skirting. Re: Anyone building with Dale Alcock or recently built 1684Jun 19, 2012 2:53 pm Had hard time over the weekend, after those rains. we noticed some mould appearing outside in the portico and apparently the water seeped into the electric wires. So we lost power to some parts of the house, mainly all bedrooms, so couldnot locate any paper work.
Finally managed an electrician on sunday to comeout n have a look, and he was surprised with done in the roof. Some cement left over in the gutters and a broken roof tile (cemented) had caused the water to detour to places which it is not supposed to. we had to get the electrician to fix the power tho and is costing us a fair bit now. Spoke to the supervisor who came out yest to have a look, they will be fixing the mould part but not reimbursing the electricians expenses. Re: Anyone building with Dale Alcock or recently built 1685Jun 19, 2012 3:44 pm I did post here a couple of month ago about checking your gutters - DH did go up before the winter rains and found quite a bit of cement/render in the gutters around the portico and a couple of downpipes were almost fully blocked with cement bits so he did clean them and checked everything before the downpours. At the pre-handover inspection our inspector did list the cleaning of the gutters and we were assured by our site supervisor that they've been done as we didn't have a ladder on the day of the handover – lesson learned – never trust – always check Preliminary agreement 23/11 Contract 22/03 Prestart 06/04 - finalised on 30/04 Unconditional approval 10/05 Demolition 05/07 Slab 26/08 Brickwork 13/09-06/10 Roof frame started 07/10 viewtopic.php?f=31&t=32292 Re: Anyone building with Dale Alcock or recently built 1686Jun 19, 2012 4:37 pm Hi OwnHome. Sorry to hear about your disappointment - I can understand your frustration having move in recently. Perhaps you could send me an email with your details so I could just have a look into it? Please email thedacrew@dalealcock.com.au and either myself or one of my colleagues will get back to you. Best regards, Jemima. Really disappointed with this happening to a brand new house, aftering having to spend so much for the "quality" Dale Alcock Homes. We love building. This one was underneath the roof tile. I've gained so much information from this forum and really grateful that there are people who are so willing to share the information gained! We have signed a contract with DAH a few months ago and are still waiting for our building plans to get things going...! Hoping that this will be soon-ish - meanwhile will try and read up on more information! Am realizing very quickly that there are so many things to know/read and decide on! Re: Anyone building with Dale Alcock or recently built 1691Jun 25, 2012 6:52 pm Hi Crystarr I'm very excited to hear you are building with Dale Alcock Homes, although I'm sorry to hear you are waiting on your building plans. I can't tell from your post whether or not you know the reason why you are still waiting on your plans? Would you like to private message me with your details and I can look into it for you? Best regards, Renee. Dale Alcock Homes. We love building. I'm not sure if that was a realistic timeframe - but we have had e-mail contact from our Sales Rep once during that time that it should be out soon, so we are still waiting. Re: Anyone building with Dale Alcock or recently built 1693Jun 25, 2012 7:17 pm Hi Crystarr Thanks for your message. It's difficult to say as lots of things can affect when the building plans are ready and some of those things we unfortunately don't have control over like Shire approvals for example. You're very welcome to private message me with your job number and I can look into what it is exactly for you. In the meantime I'm glad to hear you're finding out lots on the forum! Feel free to let me know if there are any other questions you have too. Best regards, Renee. Dale Alcock Homes. We love building. Regding Electricals, we should have called the DAH Emergency #. PPl rememeber to have these numbers handy Re: Anyone building with Dale Alcock or recently built 1696Aug 26, 2012 6:43 pm We had to get Jason's out to fix the seals in the front awning windows again last week, for the second time. Bed 2 has a large window with awnings either side of a fixed pane. Water flooded in through the bottom of the fixed pane and wet the carpet The guy from Jason said he did a "fishtank seal" or something... sealed it all with silicone and then the black seal.... or something like that? I had a tea towel folded lengthways sitting on the sill to catch the water.. it was sopping wet the next morning. Same as Bed 3, but it's not as bad in there as it is a bit more protected as the room sits back a bit (both windows are west facing, so really cop the winter elements). Hopefully both windows will be ok now. Must remember to borrow dad's ladder to check the gutter and downpipes on the portico. There is one on either side, but the left one (looking into the house) gushes out whilst not even a drip comes out of the right one. Hope all of your builds are going well, and those who have moved in are doing ok! Oceanic with Nautilus upgrades. Have booked an independent building inspector as I have no idea what I would be looking for. Hopefully not too much that will need rectifying Re: Anyone building with Dale Alcock or recently built 1698Sep 07, 2012 2:00 pm Hi everyone, just wondering if DAH has asked for bank statements from anyone to 'prove' that we have sufficient funds for the build ON TOP OF the approval received from the bank? It just seems so unusual that builders can ask for such private information and seeing that we are the clients!!! Anyone building with Dale Alcock or recently built 1699Sep 07, 2012 2:39 pm If you are paying part cash for your build then I think it's only reasonable for the builder to require some sort of proof that you have the funds available to pay for it. I don't really see it as an invasion of privacy - you either have the money or you don't. There is no need for a transaction history so it's not like they will see anything more than an account balance. But on the other hand, I don't see why anyone would enter into a contract stating cash if they didn't actually have the funds available. Would be kinda pointless. We were told that if our prestart changes came to more than $5,000 we would have to show them we had the money as the extra was not included in the contract or the finance approval. I don't think its an invasion of privacy either, the builder needs to know they will be paid at the end of the build. Some builders even make you pay for your prestart amounts within a few days of prestart.
