1. Is it standard to get inside the roof at PCI??
2. Do we need to take our own ladder to do this? Or can we ask the SS to use his?
3. Does anyone have a PCI check list handy?
Thanks

Does anyone have links to any previous posts handy? If not, I just have a couple of questions: 1. Is it standard to get inside the roof at PCI?? 2. Do we need to take our own ladder to do this? Or can we ask the SS to use his? 3. Does anyone have a PCI check list handy? Thanks ![]() Re: PCI 2Apr 18, 2010 2:39 pm Hi Lachjor, I've done a recent search but had to use "practical completion inspection" as the search term rather than "PCI" http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20864&p=313643&hilit=practical+completion#p313643 In answer to your questions, I don't think its standard to go into the roof space. Your SS may not have a ladder handy - we plan on taking our own. Still working on mine - used a collated list from a couple of sources ![]() Never argue with an idiot they drag you down to their level & then beat you with experience - Dilbert View Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=19733 Contract signed 14Sept Slab 30Sept Bricks laid 1Dec Lock up 26Feb Keys 10Jun Re: PCI 4Apr 18, 2010 3:22 pm Hi lachjor......definitely pack your ladder! ..... and check out your roof space. We were told by our SS that the insulation had been installed. Upon checking nothing was there!!! ...... the insulation was then installed three days later. From another posting I have read on the HOForum is to also make sure the insulation covers the entire area of your roof space (except Garage)...... some builders have been known only to install an area surrounding the manhole access so that when you look or feel around this area there is evidence of it being there, but of course that is as far as it goes!! Another thing I would also alert you to is to thoroughly check your window and door glass ...... any scratching is a defect and should be replaced. The cleaners aren't very careful when they scrape any mortar etc with metal blades .... a recipe for disaster with your glass. We had 6 large sliding doors and 4 window which needed replacement prior to handover. Good luck with it all. Re: PCI 5Apr 18, 2010 9:39 pm Definately take a ladder. Re: PCI 7Apr 23, 2010 8:02 pm We didn't get an independent inspection. I would assume that you wouldn't have to check in detail so much. After all thats what the inspector is being paid to do.
