Blog List add 541Jun 29, 2010 12:36 pm Just a quick question: what's everyone getting with regards to a doorbell or intercom? We're just deciding now if we should just go for a normal door bell or look at getting an intercom (so we can see who is at the door from a monitor)...?? min - has your frame arrived yet? Re: The Ponds/ KVR- Anyone building this year? Blog List add 542Jun 29, 2010 1:00 pm Door bell for us at this stage. The one EB put in looks pretty average, so will find a fancy one to replace it with. Re: The Ponds/ KVR- Anyone building this year? Blog List add 543Jun 29, 2010 1:07 pm Thanks for all the advice! Much appreciated! Our external drainage went in yesterday but couldn't take snappies, so will do that this weekend. Looks like we're still the only ones building on our street so far! I will be sending a firm email today as I am pretty Quote: normal door bell or look at getting an intercom We will probably be getting this one http://www.aiphone.com/data/pdf/marketing/JF%20Brochure.pdf If we cant afford it straight away we will get the wiring done and put the unit on later. Not sure of the normal cost but would guess it would be about $2500. Ours is being done (if I ever get a house) by our old next door neighbour who owns a security company. They dont normally do residential jobs but he is helping us set up all the cabling and security system and giving us mate rates. He recomended this as one of the best systems and you can even let someone in the front door from the upstairs unit with a press of a button. Reading the manual you can also set up a prerecorded message which can be fired off at the press of a button or automatically. Which I think would be handy for door knockers It also records who rang the door bell while you were out. There are plenty of cheaper ones around but have a chat to some people in the biz to see which ones are worthwhile. Our guy told us some are a total rip off and a waste of money. Just out of ease, we're thinking a doorbell, however would prefer an itercom - just dont have a lot of spare time to research them etc etc. Min - what's the latest on your frame?? Bernie- we walked past your place the other night and looks like your bricks are almost finished. Looking good. Your neighbours look ready for handover too. For all in early Waterfall releases there are 2 completed frames up this week and I think there are about 10 site starts in there ATM. Work has been progressing well on the unregisted waterfalls but no street trees or grass seeds yet, which are usually the last things in physical completion. I have just updated our blog. Frame should be there next week now the ransom has been paid Looking forward to the weekend and school holidays next week. Min Thanks for the update andy_min. Do you know if there is any kerb and gutter installed in the area yet? We are still waiting for our final tender but that won't happen until they can inspect and determine our site costs. In order to get that our SC advised us that the block will need to have the kerb and gutter in place. I haven't been out to the area for quite some time now.... But thanks for driving around the area and keeping us updated, thats really kind of you Re: The Ponds/ KVR- Anyone building this year? Blog List add 557Jul 02, 2010 12:11 pm We went out last weekend and there wasn't any guttering up onto Waterfall 9 other than Spring Street. But the 2 corner blocks on Spring Street had street lamps! Re: The Ponds/ KVR- Anyone building this year? Blog List add 558Jul 02, 2010 1:52 pm Saville - congrats on the bricking Bizzie - congrats on the frame Hope there is fine weather next week so the progress continues, and Min can finally get her frame. Our plans have been in council for 1 week now and already I have viewed the website 3 times to check if they have been approved But our drama this week is with the WAC (sewer thing) and to have the plans signed by Sydney Water. The WAC we got from Landcom expired last week so EB advised that we would need to get a new one. So I called the company that did the first one who were extremely helpful and they have organised Sydney Water to accept the out of date WAC and will stamp our plans for us but I need to get a quick check first. But of course EB won't deal with this company so now I need to arrange for the stamping of the plans ourselves and to work out what a quick check is and where I can do it ????? But a BIG thank you to the other company who are saving me $500 by not needing a new WAC. Enjoy the weekend everyone Re: The Ponds/ KVR- Anyone building this year? I went and sat in my car near the park yesterday and had lunch on my way out. So I could see what they were doing but didnt see any gutter yet and still only the 2 street poles.
