Blog List add 774Feb 18, 2011 8:20 am andy_min Hi Pondsies and Ridgians, Been a long time since we dropped in to say Hi. Unfortunately our home is still in progress and its moving very slowly. Very very very very slowly. Just had our plaster started late last week and continuing this week. Due for main floor tiling to start next week. Glad to see some of the old crew getting to move in and seeing some new people joining us. I am totally biased but I still think we have all picked an awesome place to live in. Min... and Andy So sorry to hear about the delays with your home, I hope that you get a quicker pace from herein.... I'm with you on the awesome place to live our alarm went off yesterday afternoon while we were still at work and by the time we got home it was late but within 20 mins had neighbours knocking on our door to let us know it went off and that neighbours from up the road and down the road had done the walk around to check that everything was ok for us!! (helps that we haven't got fences up ) haven't met these neighbours yet but nice to know that everyone is looking out for each other Acquah - not sure about the phone line we haven't done ours yet but we already have the cabling done and the telstra box on the side of the house. Good luck for PCI today!! Karla - slab will be down soon!! we found at the early stages especially for formwork, slab & frame that they were there nice and early on the Saturday mornings so we could go over and watch it happen, looking forward to some slab picks!! well I am so so glad it is Friday, ready for some more hardwork this weekend!! good news is we only have to finish the garden edges out the front and the irrigation and then we can order the underlay & get started on the grass!! Will then organise for the fences to go up, didn't want to get this done yet as we have great access for deliveries into the backyard at the moment Building the Saville27 in Kellyville Ridge Floor tiles done Port-A-loo Gone Site Fence Gone Electrical Done House Cleaned Driveway Done WE'RE IN! http://ebsaville.blogspot.com Re: The Ponds/ KVR- Anyone building this year? Blog List add 775Feb 18, 2011 12:22 pm Sorry to hear about the slow progress Min - hopefully things pick up soon Karry & pman congrats on site starts. I know how great it is to finally see something happen after months of paper work. As for us, we have a kitchen and bathroom !! Well cupboards anyway. Hoping that the bathroom tiles have started this week. I'm not sure how long the tiles / painting takes but I'm still hoping to move in April. They are making good progress at the moment so hoping this continues. Have a good weekend everyone Re: The Ponds/ KVR- Anyone building this year? Blog List add 776Feb 18, 2011 1:03 pm Hi all, we've just recently moved into our house in the last few weeks, in regards to the phone line I've struck major issues. Telstra installed a phone line (pair gain, means the 1 line is shared between 2 neighbours) and have the phone box on the side of my house. I moved in and organised Telstra to setup my phone line, they came back and said before of other works going on they couldn't complete the request just yet. This was 3 weeks ago now, I was assigned a case manager and he was great in the first week but haven't heard boo from him since, I've been ringing them everyday and complaining and trying to find out an update. I finally found out yesterday that they're going to run a new copper phone line to my house (which I'm thankful for so I can get ADSL2+ as you can't with pair gain) but the completion date isn't until 31st March, so I said to them what can you do for me as I've been without internet for 3 weeks now, it will be 2 months at the time the phone line is completed.. So they gave me the soloution of if I buy a wireless pre paid modem they will reimburse the cost of the modem once the phone line is connected and I send them a copy of the receipt.... After testing last night, the wireless modem is ok, fast, but drops out every 15mins... so its ok for checking up on things etc... __________________________ Building the Concerto with Allorth Homes @ The Ponds Our blog Noddy @ The Ponds http://noddytheponds.blogspot.com PM me re Landscape Plans Re: The Ponds/ KVR- Anyone building this year? Blog List add 777Feb 18, 2011 4:28 pm Thanks Saville27! PCI went well today, and after 3 hours, we're exhausted! Noddy, sorry to hear of all the troubles with the phone line/internet connections. We're getting our phone line connection done by iinet as we are currently going through them as our internet provider. What I found out was that all they needed to have done is the conduit laid for a telephone connection, and that is all that is needed to install a phone line. So fingers crossed, once that's done, we can check what services we can get out there. I can't imagine living without the internet.. it's my resource to the world!!! Re: The Ponds/ KVR- Anyone building this year? Blog List add 778Feb 18, 2011 10:25 pm Saville27, that's so lovely to hear about the neighbours. Actually I'm really enjoying meeting all our new neighbours and sharing the same experience with them. Hope you get lots of yard work done this weekend Noddy, how frustrating about the phone line! Trust Telstra to make it a little extra painful Chasey, you'll have to show us some pics of your kitchen & bathrooms soon!! How exciting! Acquah, I can only imagine how exhausted you must be. As for us, our waffle pods and steel is now down. We noticed they've missed 1 drainage point though, so we've let Eden Brae know today so they could get it sorted before the concrete goes down. Well I hope they get it sorted before the concrete goes down anyway! I won't be in the area again until Wednesday so can't wait to see the hopefully completed slab by then Building an Eden Brae Saville 27 http://karry327.blogspot.com/ Building thread https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=44247 Re: The Ponds/ KVR- Anyone building this year? Blog List add 779Feb 18, 2011 10:49 pm Hello everyone, It's been a while since I dropped a line to say hello but it's really good to see everyone's progress with their build. Of course I'd like to congratulate to those who have moved in to their places. I'm longing for that day to actually come for us but we need to start building first. But the summary so far has been our plan was submitted to council about 2 weeks ago and we've settled on the land earlier this month. So it is getting there I think. A bit slower than expected but nevertheless it is a progress. I just like to ask if there is anyone here who paid a private building inspector? and are they worth the value? I hear from people that it can cost us an extra $2000 to hire a private inspector for them to come and check every stage of the build. Which I think it's rather expensive considering they only come around about 5 times to inspect the stages of the build. Thanks guys. Re: The Ponds/ KVR- Anyone building this year? Blog List add 780Feb 19, 2011 10:11 am Yopz, here's a thread all about building inspectors: http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=34434&hilit=building+inspectors I'm not sure if we'll get an inspector yet. Earlier in the piece I was definitely going to get one but I think we'll see how we go and if we're not feeling confident with things we'll get one. Hubby's reasonably clued up with all things building which helps. Things will really start to come along for you now!
