Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 04, 2010 11:26 am Background: They've been building for about 3 weeks now and we should have our slab poured today hopefully, but there's no temporary fencing around our block. Since it's a new estate, every house on the strip has their temporary fencing except ours. (Every house is currently under construction.) Because everyone in the strip is building, not having temporary fencing doesn't really bother me but then again we have paid for it after all. So what should I do in this case.. wait and see if they end up do putting the temporary fencing in? Just leave it and if there's no temp fencing by the time we finish, then try get a rebate for it? E-mail my CSC and try get it put in asap? Also when does the temp fencing usually get taken away? Thanks guys. ---------------------------------------- Building the PD Lisbon 24 http://www.porterdavis.com.au/#homeviewer/lisbon/24 Blog of our progress. http://lisbon24.blogspot.com/ Homeone build thread https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=28665 Re: Temporary Fencing 2Feb 04, 2010 11:40 am I didn't need to have temporary fencing, but if it hasn't been installed then you are probably within your rights to a)ask for it to be installed as you have paid for it and b) ask for a credit for the amount of time that it hasn't been there. Although, you may also want to save this argument for something a lot more important further down the track I wouldn't really worry about it 'A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world.' I really wouldnt worry about it too much. Re: Temporary Fencing 4Feb 04, 2010 12:01 pm Our builders only needed half the temp fence as our neighbours had their temp fence up. I just emailed and asked if we would get a credit back for the half they didn't use and they said yes at the end of the build. Not holding my breath but at least I asked. I have it in an email so we will see. But don't stress about it Forum thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22300 Re: Temporary Fencing 5Feb 04, 2010 4:21 pm I *believe* it doesn't have to go up until after the timbers are delivered. Ours was late too so it must just be a PD thing. It will just appear one day though Blog: http://bluemistkids.blogspot.com "Never be afraid to try something new. Re: Temporary Fencing 6Feb 04, 2010 5:21 pm We paid for temp fencing to go all four sides of our house as they insisted we needed to have it regardless of our already installed post and wire fencing. However they only put it up across the front of the house. I'm not holding my breath for a rebate. They took it down three months before end up construction too! They will probably install your fencing soon. At the moment there is probably nothing to steal on your block anyway. Hi JW I just read your post and I find this situation quite strange.
