I just had a look through your blog I’m with a different builder but in same situation. I too got the $250.00 charge to go back to council and now also on the count down to lay the slab. I believe mine shouldn’t be too far away now I got the tap last week. I’m in Vic and was lucky enough that when I phoned the council to check they had received my application I got the nicest guy he looked for my application and put it on top of the pile… My builder phoned a couple of days later to say it was the fastest dispensation they had ever received. I know you’d rather they start your house but as far I have heard as long as you can prove that you haven’t stuffed around to cause any delays you can apply for an extension… I’ll be following with interest. Nelle Re: Meeting the First Home Buyers Deadline 3Feb 06, 2010 10:45 am How do I apply for this extension you speak of? Re: Meeting the First Home Buyers Deadline 4Feb 06, 2010 3:11 pm Hi Murray, We're in a similar boat, owing to some communitcation issues between our builder and shire. Having had a look into it and spoken with the Office of State Revenue (the ones responsible for administering the grant in WA), they've advised that if we put our request in writing and it's due to no fault of our own, they're generally happy to extend the the deadline as far as required. Might be worth speaking to whoever administers the grant where you are. Hope this helps. Jason. Building 'Cove' with Celebration Homes in Aubin Gardens, WA Our (very basic!) thread @ viewtopic.php?f=31&t=29226 Re: Meeting the First Home Builders Deadline 5Feb 25, 2010 8:37 pm So my wife spoke to Wisdom Homes today, there have advised us that they have not yet applied for the construction certificate yet and that the application process will take three weeks. Just like we thought, we are going to have to apply for that extension to the grant or we could miss out on the lot. insertdrama.exe So if you ever need to apply for the grant extension your self, Email: first.home.benefits@osr.nsw.gov.au To Whom It May Concern, ...insert builders name... and I require an extension on the statute of limitations for access to the builders grant. I understand that in order to receive the grant, the slab must be poured within six ( 6 ) months of signing the builders contract.
