We received an email when PCI was booked & then a confirmation email & phone call from our CLO a couple of days prior. This meeting is something you definitely need to be properly prepared for!! Best wishes for PCI day tomorrow!! I don't think I've ever seen so many people on site at once. PCI went well yesterday, there were only a few minor issues but the SS had already identified most of them so that was good. A few things scheduled to be done next week. Hopefully we get the final account quickly so that we can get the bank started and get the keys! Re: zircon's build with SPH - Week 36 - PCI done! 444Jan 14, 2011 8:16 pm who ho for PCI how exciting now for you!!! hope its not too much of a wait to your keys. Cant wait til i'm at this stage. Re: zircon's build with SPH - Week 36 - PCI done! 446Jan 19, 2011 1:56 pm Must be so exciting to finally get there... do you have a definite handover date? Do you think they will finish fixing everything? I'm pretty exhausted at the moment with my build - too many things need to be fixed. Yesterday they did fix the cornice in the theatre room and put up the cornice in the Portico - the guy left the window wide open so we had a look inside as we couldn't get in for the last week or so... guess what... we noticed that where they installed our pedestal for our basin in the Powder Room the floor tile is cracked can anybody do anything right? I think they will finish fixing everything in time, they have been going pretty flat out for the last few days and it was only things to do. I'm hoping for keys by the end of next week, hopefully that can happen. Building is exhausting. Sometimes I think it would be easier if we never went near the site during the build but then if we didn't how could we guarantee things would get picked up that need fixing? Hope you get careful tradies from now on in. We drove down your street on the weekend, DH was most impressed saying you've made really good use of the block. I'm feeling rather overwhelmed at the moment. There's so much to do and organize! I still can't find a light fitting I like for the entry, at this rate I'll just leave the lovely builder's plastic fitting on it! Re: zircon's build with SPH - Week 37 - Nearly at handover 448Jan 19, 2011 2:53 pm Relax , Been in for 3 months and I am still installing lights and fittings. Things can be damaged and easily forgotten between PCI and handover so be sure to check all again before coughing up the last of the dough. We only bought the outdoor lighting and the above the island pendants. The rest to be decided later. My main priorities will be to get the house painted and have the carpet installed - then move in and do the rest. My retaining walls might be done before handover - just waiting for our contractor to confirm when he can start - and fencing will be the next urgent thing so we can ge some privacy. As you probably noticed - there are no fences around my place... I've bought all the others, just can't get this one pesky light sorted! We'll be moving in before the carpet gets installed in the bedrooms and theatre, a bit of a pain and not how I planned it but I figure it gives me a little more time to finish the painting. We've only got a fence on one side of the block at the moment so the remaining fences are going to be a priority. We've also got to do something about the verandah and alfresco as we took the paving out of the contract. So as soon as we get the keys we're going to be pretty poor for the next few months! Re: zircon's build with SPH - Week 37 - Nearly at handover 451Jan 21, 2011 6:41 pm Good grief the company SP contracted to install the septic system at our house have to be the most incompetent bunch I've ever come across. First they install the tanks at the wrong height so the tanks had to be pulled out, the hole redone and the tanks reinstalled. This of course delayed our build by a few weeks with all the messing about. At PCI last week a rep from the company was there along with the Shire to check that the system was working properly. The good news is they managed to install it properly, the bad news is some inspection part was buried and the shire needs to see it so they can't sign off on the system. That was a week ago. Today we find out that they wont be able to do the work until the end of next week or the following Monday. Am so flipping angry right now! They are effectively holding up handover of our house. Re: zircon's build with SPH - Week 37 - Still waiting. 452Jan 22, 2011 12:50 am Oh, you have to be joking! Is there no way that you can dig out the inspection part yourselves rather than having to wait for them? Or is it too deep/difficult? I thought you were going to say something else about your ATU - my friend that is building around the corner from you just found out today that the company he has paid a large deposit to for his ATU has just gone into liquidation cos of the QLD floods and he might have lost all that money! Just lucky you didn't choose them!! Built with Sw1tch H0mes >Build thread< House status 15/12: Gates and A/C finally installed! Was it Biolytix? I saw they had gone into liquidation. That was the system we originally wanted to put in before opting for one the builder had installed before. If he does have to choose another system, I can recommend a company NOT to use! Has work started on his block yet? I saw a few blocks near us have had earthworks start in the last week. I found out today the bank has ordered the valuation. They took their sweet time as they've had the final payment request since last Wednesday. Fingers crossed they do it quickly so the final payment can be released. Re: zircon's build with SPH - Week 38 - Still waiting. 454Jan 24, 2011 5:47 pm Yep, that's the company. Who did you use? I believe his earthworks started on Friday, but now they're going off to do another job and will come back in a week or two. Good news on the valuation, hopefully they sort it out really quickly for you. Built with Sw1tch H0mes >Build thread< House status 15/12: Gates and A/C finally installed! The keys will be in your hot little hand very soon Bank val just a formality, making sure house has got everything stated in the orig docs. It's now not being done until this afternoon. I guess its keys next week then rather than tomorrow now. SP still have a couple of things to fix up on the house, too which I expected would have been done by now, after all PCI was two weeks ago. It feels like this is never going to end, it just keeps dragging on and on. We've booked the carpet to be installed on the 10th Feb, surely that allows enough time for us to get our keys??!! Re: zircon's build with SPH - Week 38 - Waiting for handover 457Jan 27, 2011 12:49 pm goodness me zircon - I know what you mean - slow on my front as well - dragging feet... asked for an update and so far no reply - DH has to ring the RE lady again and confirm that we do have 2 weeks extra after the lease expires which is on the 17th... Hopefully I never have to deal with the company that installed it ever again. Although I noticed they still haven't removed the broken concrete they were supposed to so I guess there's at least one phone call to them ahead of me. The bank hasn't done the bank cheque so it looks as though handover will definitely be next week now. Useless bank, wait 30 minutes to speak to someone in construction and every time get conflicting information. I can't believe this payment takes so long, they got it Wednesday last week and haven't done it yet. Really a final payment is not that different to all the others which they've paid no more than two days after submitting the invoice!
