Hope the costs don't amount to too much, don't wanna start all over again Goodluck Built with New Generation (Summit Homes) We own land!... with a slab on it! Plus a shell of a house with stuff inside ! Re: Jas and Nat's excellent adventure - Aubin Grove, WA 22Feb 12, 2010 10:08 am wrexter Choosing the right house has been a rollercoaster. orginally we were set to go with celebrations and build the regal, then we were lured to the floreat from scott park homes. after a bad experience with the sales consultant. the design had its flaws so we wanted to change some things and it seemed he had no idea on going about doing so. Hey was the sales consultant issue with SPH? We've had a very much similar experience with ours (from the SPH display close to Aubin Gardens)... nice enough guy but I ended up having a sit down with him and the Technical & Sales Consultant (Sales Manager in normal speak) regarding some of the costings... was quite profitable from our end (the tune of 6K)... like I said the our sales consultant was a nice guy but we felt he was really nervous and rushing... Though we signed up last night.... after a couple of months of to-ing and fro-ing! My thread has been deleted... Hey Nursepeter, yes the trouble we had was with our sales consultant from SPH, and i beleive we had the same consultant, without naming names. He even showed me your plans when we were deciding on changes and he said that a paramedic client of his was building it, i realised he was speaking of you when i saw your plans on this forum ;P i dont want to go on whinging but he was utterly useless, tried to rush through the whole process, and being a first home buyer at 23 im not well experience but im not an idiot. In our final meeting with him, after waiting 30 mins for him to arrive, i had taken the plans and modified it on my computer using my cad software just to be able to show him exactly what we wanted without confusing him. Immediately we got the impression that he was no longer interested in helping us as he thought we are a client that would want a few changes and were not a 'quick' sale. in front of other customers we felt like he spoke down to us and belittled us. we left, and thats where our business ended with SPH as we had a sour taste in our mouths. we took a look at New gen homes again after a few months and we saw a plan, the colorado, that we fell in love with. our sales consultant there has been nothing but friendly and helpful in cutting costs anywhere but still achieving our dream. something that we didnt experience with SPH as they were only interested in money. just as big as the floreat, slightly more expensive but without cutting corners and without exorbitant prices for upgrades and with a great design that packed full of features. on the plus side, my gf's dad'd mate would be our site supervisor. That's really unfortunate... our sales consultant with SPH was the exact opposite! I guess it just goes to show how much the individuals who work for a company can make such a difference. The Colorado looks like a nice design, nice elevation too New beginnings. Im happy with how it all turned out Re: Jas and Nat's excellent adventure - Aubin Grove, WA 26Feb 12, 2010 4:12 pm Must be the same consultant. He's a nice enough guy but I think he's new to sales. Not the easiest guy to make a sale through though.... some of that is SPH I think. He's always been prompt, more the issues with not doing stuff we've asked and being a bit passive aggressive with me when we started talking about looking around at other builders due to the exorbitant costings. The wife and I saw past him and where we where aiming for (cutting our mortgage back) and just continued to plow through the dramas until we got to the point where we are now.... which is signed and deposit down, Cat 1. Now the wait for prestart and permits and everything else! I've posted plans that we signed off on today on my thread! I guess generally everyone has issues when they build.. glad hear you found something you liked! My thread has been deleted... Please call and give them a bit of pressure. Thats what i did after i realised that its taking too long. I called 2 times and we got it within a week after I made those calls. The builder usually just sits and waits. I just realised ur waiting for land titles? after you receive your land titles, it will take another 2-3 months to get the building license. We signed up for the land in Nov 08 - got our titles in April 09. We did our prestart early March 09. We had some delays in between with the builder (preparing our contract). After that we submitted our plans to the shire in June09. and got our building license early September09. I think some builders submit the plans early ..for someone reason ours didnt submit until they knew we had the titles, and then they prepared our contract. Damn, I wish my builder did that! ive got a price increase REALLY soon Garden - viewtopic.php?f=19&t=44214&p=670323#p670323 Decorating - viewtopic.php?f=6&t=47218&p=715743#p715743 Re: Jas and Nat's excellent adventure - Aubin Grove, WA 31Feb 27, 2010 11:38 pm Amazing. We've finally got progress!!!! The builder got the verbal OK from Cockburn last week. Since then, land has been levelled, and steel mesh has been delivered. For the first time we're able to make out the vague outline of the slab on the block. http://members.iinet.net.au/~backshall/ ... 0_1716.jpg http://members.iinet.net.au/~backshall/ ... 0_1717.jpg I'm feeling rather sheepish being so excited over something so major - but it's all happening! Nursepeter - out of curosity, how did you find Matthew at SPM? We found him a little eccentric, though I have to admit he made signing up just a little too easy! Jas Woo, i can vaguely see my block in stage 10 from those pics I definately found matt a little eccentric, good guy though. Everytime time i said i would like a block, he would respond with: "So how many would you like?" Re: Jas and Nat's excellent adventure - Aubin Grove, WA 35Mar 03, 2010 12:01 pm Just spoke to SPM/ Terranovis... Stage 9 that was due to be released at the end of Feb (obv it wasn't) is expected to be be released in middle of March... allegedly the City of Cockburn is querying something that was done on the development... basically they are just taking their sweet time about it. Speaking to Di at SPM / Terranovis she said a letter to this effect was sent on Thursday (25/2/10). Hope this helps someone! My thread has been deleted... Re: Jas and Nat's excellent adventure - Aubin Grove, WA 36Mar 15, 2010 11:30 am Hi Jas nad Nat (Neighbours). We have just bought in Aubin Grove (Aubin Gardens - Stage 9). Spoke to the Land Developer lsat week and was told they had to resubmit a few items to the council and Titles 'should' be ready end of March. Are you guys in stage 9 as well? Re: Jas and Nat's excellent adventure - Aubin Grove, WA 37Mar 15, 2010 11:50 am G'day Toohey, We're in an older stage, but right in front of 9 - cnr of Camden Blvd and Andromeda lnk. Most of our holdups seemed to be more a mis-communication between the builder and the shire than anything else! Would be great if your titles were ready by the end of March. Have you just bought or had the block for a while? Cheers! We put the land deposit down October 2009, done prestart (well almost, just giving the builder yet more changes) and now just waiting on the titles. The upgrades were expensive but we just didn't do too many (thats where the company makes their money)... He seemed to know what he was talking about and came and visited us at our home twice with plan changes so we were pretty happy in the end...
