Re: Jas and Nat's excellent adventure - Aubin Grove, WA 42Mar 20, 2010 9:31 pm JessandMark Hey, We are building on Descanso Loop with Scott Park and pretty sure we dealt with the same sales guy you guys talked about... although he wasn't so bad with us... The upgrades were expensive but we just didn't do too many (thats where the company makes their money)... He seemed to know what he was talking about and came and visited us at our home twice with plan changes so we were pretty happy in the end... Hope the rest of the process runs this smoothly wow from my reckoning that's 3 of you building in the same street on here. It's all starting to come together, which after months of waiting is a huge relief. Photos coming soon P.S I haven't had the chance to meet my neighbour - if you're reading this, I'm very sorry about the pallets of bricks on your block!!! Those cottage blocks get a little tight for space! Sorry for the lack of detail - uni has started as well and so trying to balance work and study doesn't leave a lot of time for much else! It seems once they get going, they *really* get going. We're just about at plate height! They've still got to finish the front of the house and one or two of the internal walls - aside from that however, they're just about there. I need to work out how to get photos off my phone. Shouldn't be this hard - I work in IT :/ Do you guys have any idea as to when you can start now that you have your building license? Thats great news! Know what you mean, I dropped of the face of H1s earth haha. work and study and life in general for me too. Depends what type of phone you have - normally id say plug it in and copy them from the drive on the phone. (I have an iphone so its easy) Not sure if you read my thread/blog but settlement hasnt happened yet. So im waiting on that before it can start, not sure on the time frame between that and construction but i gather its not much. So im waiting on that before it can start, not sure on the time frame between that and construction but i gather its not much. Oh ok! From what I can gather, settlement is more of a formality - if your builder knows the date that it's due to happen, then there shouldn't be any reason why they can't schedule site works to start not long after seeing as though you've already got your building approval!? I've got the iPhone too - to be honest I really haven't tried that hard, will give it a shot tonight Jas. That's how my builder works tho, don't know how the others work but should be similar. Built with New Generation (Summit Homes) We own land!... with a slab on it! Plus a shell of a house with stuff inside ! Re: Jas and Nat's excellent adventure - Aubin Grove, WA 55Apr 15, 2010 3:23 pm Thats what im waiting on Candy. Think this has been the most stressful part because its money....and i prob need to coff up more now, which i dont have....:/ hmmm anyway. Jas..its rather easy to do. We are building in Aubin Gardens too. We were going to build the Floreat. We ended up signing up with Celebrations. We are building the Regal Games. However we have added an alfresco as well. We have not had our prestart yet so we are still a fair way off getting started. Nice to meet you all. Re: Jas and Nat's excellent adventure - Aubin Grove, WA 57Jun 07, 2010 11:57 am luke81 Hi We are building in Stage 9 on Lot 334 Adromeda Link. We were going to build the Floreat. We ended up signing up with Celebrations. We are building the Regal Games. However we have added an alfresco as well. We have not had our prestart yet so we are still a fair way off getting started. Nice to meet you all. Good choice on skipping the floreat :p The regal is a good choice, we were going to go with that also but then we found the Colorado by New Generation which suited us much more, quite similar to Regal Hope you have a good building experience, looking forward to seeing it happen Re: Jas and Nat's excellent adventure - Aubin Grove, WA 58Jun 08, 2010 12:27 pm The Colorado is a great design and very similar to the Regal. However as our block is very wide (30 metres) and an odd shape we wanted our alfresco out the side of the house so we ended up going with the Regal (Games version) and then added an alfresco as well to the side of the house. We also put a wall up between the family room and the games room in order to make the games room a separate room. Great room for kids toys. We have also added 31c ceilings throughout the house and alfresco and overhead cupboards to the kitchen. I dont know about you but we found it pretty difficult to find a house that had a study, a theatre, a games room and an alfresco and that worked on our block. The minute we walked into the Regal we knew it was perfect. It also made it easier when you can actually walk through a display house that is similar to what you are going to build. Celebrations have been a pleasure to deal with and if the build runs as well as the planning phase then we will be wrapped. Re: Jas and Nat's excellent adventure - Aubin Grove, WA 59Jun 08, 2010 3:35 pm 100% agree, very hard to find a 4x2 home with study, alfresco, theatre, games that would fit on our 550 block. thats why we loved the colorado. if you find something that you love, if you have a pleasant experience building it, then youve done well.
