Browse Forums Building A New House Re: BUILDING MONTEREY Q2 WITH HENLEY***TILES & PAINTING DONE 61May 19, 2010 9:08 pm Almost finished. Render completed and Garage Door on. Wardrobes fitted out, showerscreens, flywires, mirrors and splashback done. Only paint touch up to be completed. My wife was down yesterday and the painter was on site repainting a few doors, but she didn't take the camera. Went down today and got a few pics of the front of the house completed. Couldn't remember what render colour we chose but can't be happier! Cant wait to see the finished inside pics Thanks, I think we started a few weeks after you. I think we're pretty much at the same stage atm. Still waiting to hear from the Handover dept. Maybe we'll get an update tom. Go cats fro Friday. Unfortunately as my wife is almost due I had to give it a miss. Thankyou to ch 7! 8857chloe Wow Moonos, no wonder you couldn't be happier...looks fantastic!!!! Do you mind telling me what colour render you used, looks so nice!! I look forward to seeing the photos of inside also! Thanks. I'll check out the paperwork and let you know. I honestly couldn't remember what colour we chose. I've seen a few of the same facade around and the full render looked better, but we didn't want to get full render as we love our bricks. In the end this looks pretty good. Can't wait to start landscaping. Re: BUILDING MONTEREY Q2 WITH HENLEY***TILES & PAINTING DONE 65May 24, 2010 3:23 pm 8857chloe Wow Moonos, no wonder you couldn't be happier...looks fantastic!!!! What do you think about the size of the butlers pantry? As it's not on display anywhere it's hard to imagine what it's like Look forward to seeing more pictures!!! Thanks. Had a call today from our SS who advised that the house is now with the handover dept and hopefully we can organise a walk through next week. Just waiting to hear from them. The Butlers pantry seems fine, although I haven't seen it since the shelves went up. Nowhere near as big as the pantry we would have had had we of continued with Porter Davis which was about 4 times as big! Re: BUILDING MONTEREY Q2 WITH HENLEY***TILES & PAINTING DONE 71May 26, 2010 6:54 pm Had a call from the handover dept today and have booked in our pre handover appt in for next wed. We were going to use New Home Inspections, but it seems Henley and these guys don't have the same time free so can't book them in. Don't want to delay the inspection as we want to move in. So can anyone recommend a good building inspector in the West of Melbourne. After someone who has a little substance to their report and isn't going to add alot of fluff. Cheers Re: BUILDING MONTEREY Q2 WITH HENLEY*NEED A BUILDINING INSPE 72May 26, 2010 9:05 pm Hi moonos21, Congrats, few more days or so you probably moving to your brand new house. Just a quick question, did your land settled on time? I'm just worried if ever that the title of the land will be delayed Henley will charged us extra $2500. Thanks in advance Re: BUILDING MONTEREY Q2 WITH HENLEY*NEED A BUILDINING INSPE 73May 26, 2010 10:17 pm Our land was already settled when we signed, but Porter Davis initially wanted to charge us an extra $2500 because our finance was delayed due to our crap bank...That's why we ended up cancelling with them and building with Henley and much happier.... Re: BUILDING MONTEREY Q2 WITH HENLEY*NEED A BUILDINING INSPE 74May 30, 2010 12:18 pm We have our pre handover inspection on Wed and just recievd our final invoice. Our tender document had a provisional charge for rock removal and a charge for a reestablishment survey, both of which we were told would be deducted from the final invoice if not required. As far as I know, no rock was found on site and no reestablishment survey done yet these charges are still appearing. I've written to Henley asking for an explanation and to have them removed. Just wondering if others who have built with henley had any problems havingthese charges deleted from there final invoice? Cheers Re: BUILDING MONTEREY Q2 WITH HENLEY***ADVICE NEEDED** 75Jun 02, 2010 10:51 pm Just an update for anyone interested or building with Henley. We had our PCI today so a quick summary and a few pics. We contrated the services of Darren from Darbecca for our inspection and would recommend him to anyone. We took the advice some people posted in Erins post about what to look out for at the PCI. Made sure we ran all the showers and taps, moved the one light Henley supply from room to room, checked the finish on the ceiling, checked all the electrical points, etc. To our non professional eyes we really only picked up a number of paint touch ups that will need to be done. As per Erins topic, our Henley rep begrudginly accepted that the areas we pointed out needed some work. darren did comment that the construction of our house was one of the better he has seen and he couldn't stop raving about how good the brickwork was. he did however pick up a number of big and small cosmetic things that need to be fixed that to our untrained eyes we wouldn't have picked up. The main ones were 1. Our roof tiles appear to be from two different batches so there is an uneveness of colour that will be noticeable at certain times of the day. The supplier will need to take care of this. 2.A gap between the plaster and architraves of all windows and door frames. If left unattended this would have allowed air in. 3. A hump in our slab in the kitchen which will need to be levelled. All in all very happy with the house assuming Henley fix up our defects and the money was well spent with the inspector. We also had a win with our final invoice.Received an email today with a credit of $4,500 for the things I mentioned in my previous post. Credit to Henley on this as I was expecting to have to put my foot down. That's money we can now spend on other things. Namely a pool table Here are some pics Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: BUILDING MONTEREY Q2 WITH HENLEY***PCI Completed**Many P 76Jun 03, 2010 12:03 am congrats the house looks fab and just in time for bubs from the sounds hopefully you get a few more bits and pieces done before he/she make the arrival enjoy your new house!
