Glad to hear everything on your list was fixed Re: BUILDING MONTEREY Q2 WITH HENLEY***Reinspection Complete 102Jun 16, 2010 11:00 pm Thanks guys. We waited to give notice on our rental place until our reinspection so we've still got a bit of time and don't need to rush. Plan to move over the weekend of the 10th. Think the bub will be ok. She slept through her first outing outside to the supermarket. Since then we got the train to the city and back and she slept the whole way. We also went took her out for dinner tonight and she only woke up on the way home. Good luck with your PCI Erin. I think Henley are good at fixing things that you or the inspector pick up. By the sound of things though we've had a much smoother build to you guys. I think alot gets down to your SS and ours was top notch. Sounds like you had quite a few probs with yours. Ours gave us his mobile number and told us to call him directly after lockup stage with any questions. Any problems we had he had rectified straight away. Been checking out instant turf today on the web and planning our landscaping. Still plenty to do! Re: BUILDING MONTEREY Q2 WITH HENLEY***Reinspection Complete 103Jun 24, 2010 7:12 pm So my wife picked up the keys today!! Also got our bag of lights and our BBQ set. Very happy with the BBQ set as was planning to buy one for the new house. Flooring is scheduled to start Monday, and excavation for the driveway also. Blinds should be installed the following week. Unfortunately my neighbour is taking his time in sorting out the fence so I think we'll be without one for a couple of weeks after we move in. Just one question for anyone building with henley. My wife wasn't sure about the gas. Do Henley connect the gas and have the gas meter installed? i was going to call Origin today and get them to do it, but ran out of time. Hopefully with Julia now in office and being a Western Suburbs girl she'll do something about the crap public transport down Point Cook way. Re: BUILDING MONTEREY Q2 WITH HENLEY***WE HAVE KEYS!!!!*** 104Jun 24, 2010 7:21 pm Yes, Henley do organise the gas Re: BUILDING MONTEREY Q2 WITH HENLEY***WE HAVE KEYS!!!!*** 105Jul 05, 2010 7:25 pm The good news is we had our driveway poured on Friday. Has come up very nice. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The bad news is we had our carpet laid last week also. It looks like the carpet layer has damaged the front door frame when he brought the carpet inside. he's also damaged the plaster in our master bedroom. I'll be contacting *** as we went through them, but I guess he'll just say he didn't do it. More bad news. We were supposed to have our laminate flooring laid on Friday but the installer claims that the slab is not flat enough. 8 areas are outside the tolerance of 3mm. Our handover inspector looked at it and he will have 2 of the areas ground down, but he claims the other areas are within the building standards which is within 4mm. Fortunately our SS called me on Friday afternoon and is going outtheir with his flooring guy on Tuesday and he said he'll try and get them all within 3mm. The installer said that he can level the areas with a levelling agent but will cost around $1,000. This seems excessive to me. Don't know if he's trying to rip me off. Anyone here had experience with levelling out their slab? Advice would be greatly appreciated. Only have one side fence up atm so not very secure. Are you happy? I hope so, it looks lovely-I really like that pendant light! Thanks and yes it is great to live in. I luv to indulge my Masterchef fantasy with the big cooker and my wife loves the dishwasher and all the space, especially the walk in pantry. It was like a game of Jenga getting stuff out of our last pantry. The zoned & programmeable heating is great. I'm sure the refrigerated air con will be even better come summer. All the xtra room is great. The living area in our rental property was ok but very snug. In our new because the living area is bigger we've noticed that the tv may be a little small. maybe time for an upgrade. Our bedroom is massive. We had about 6 inches between the end of the bed and the dresser in our old place. many injuries occured in the dark of night. Now you can do cartwheels around our bed. We've got plenty of space so have just put a king size bed on layby. WIR is great and sure beats having our clothes on stands. Big double shower and shower head sure beats our dirty old crappy shower in our rental place also. Also didn't expect I'd luv our door from the garage into the house so much. Many other positives. One downer is all the mud everywhere, but it's a small price to pay. Today they started to landscape the nature strip on our street so there is mud all over the road and our driveway. We only spent $3,000 to do the whole house. That included night and day blinds at the back and front. This was half the price of some of the other quotes we got.
