Re: Our plan 3Feb 02, 2010 10:38 am hi D200 Doug , The shed is so huge! Your plan is simple, and I like it. I'm not sure if u could change anything at this stage ( what stage are u as helyn asked??). This is my opinions. 1. The island/ bar is quite far from the cooktop ( about 2m ), consider if u could widen it to create extra bench space and also easier to cook. U could have cupboards/drawers on two sides--facing the cooktop and also the living 2. Shift the master bedroom door a bit to the left so it is not opposite the ldry door 3. Shift the mud room door ( the 2nd door from the porch) to the end of the entry hallway, so when u're entertaining in the living areas, those kids/ guests could enjoy a quiet moment in the front bedrms. For that door maybe u can consider a cavity one to save space cheers nott Re: Our plan 5Feb 02, 2010 3:08 pm Nott 1. The dining table will be right next to it and anyone actually sitting at the breakfast bar would be sticking out into the walkway. I like the mudroom/airlock but I think it could be bigger? Re: Our plan 6Feb 02, 2010 3:27 pm Yep we have considered and discussed those. As above we have been able to see the house completed across the road, we would have bought that except that there was no room for the SHED FRM HELL !! Storage space should not be an issue and the laundry will have a floor to ceiling pantry / shelves / storage space for bulk items. Having seen the breakfast bar and where it is situated it does work and work well even if it looks odd on the plans Macy Nott 1. You are still in a not very exclusive group Both Margo and I looked at the slab and wondered if the shed was too small We would have built a bigger one if we had more room. It is going to be 3.5m high at the gutter and clad in the same insulated cladding as the house then rendered to the same colour so it does not look like a huge ugly shed in the backyard. There will be a mezzanine storage area above Margo's sewing room I need the full hight for backdrops and lights in the studio. Re: Our plan 9Feb 02, 2010 4:54 pm I love the plan. The only thing I'd consider would be a double basin in the ensuite but that's because where we're at I'm always running to use the other bathroom. We are retired so there is no rush to get out of the house in the mornings anymore Anyway I have no hair left and I have not shaved since 1981 so I do not spend much time in front of sink and neither of us spend more time than we have to in front of ANY mirrors now! We increased the size or the main bathroom so I could have a nice deep long bathtub to soak in and we also have quite a large shower area that will not have any door or screen. We are still deciding if we should put one or 2 shower heads into that shower It would keep the kids guessing when they come to visit That drawing’s in the old units.
