Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 31, 2010 9:53 pm Hi everyone, The time has come..... We are about to start building in the bayswood estate, aldinga. I was wondering if anyone else on here is building down this way??? We signed way back on the 27th of july 2009 and are still waiting for our final sign off. Our builder (sterling) didn't sign until the 21st of september 2009. Apparently to give us more time to organise all the paper work / approvals / selections / stuff.... and still fit into the fhog. 6 month time limit. ( umm... more like give them more time ) Well we have about 7 weeks before our slab needs to be in the ground. Let hope it all happens Land settlement 4 May Building contracts signed 27 July Slab pour 26 March Frame started 10 May Bricks start 31 May Roof & Gutters Start 31 May gyprock 1 July Kitchen & cabinets/tiling 19 August Second fix plumbing 15 September Second fix electrical 22 September PCI 28 September viewtopic.php?f=31&t=29155 Re: Building in aldinga 2Feb 01, 2010 1:33 am best of luck Kodiak Data Cabling onFaceBook Consult*, Design and Installation Data, TV, Home Theatre/ AV Cabling, Multi Room Audio, IP CCTV and Door Intercoms Ask for a Quote. *DIY DATA Cabling Is Ilegal Re: Building in aldinga 3Feb 01, 2010 5:27 am Good luck!! We both signed on the same date so it will be interesting to see how our builds progress. Have you done all your colour selections? Also what designate you building? Pop up some pics for us all. Re: Building in aldinga 4Feb 01, 2010 6:25 am Hi all the sand, we are building our own design. our block is an odd shape but at least it's flat. we took a bit out of the display's we liked, we're mostly happy with it now. the problem we had is none of the standard houses fit our block properly. It's 700sqm but only has a narrow frontage, so that limited us to mainly courtyard house... i'll get to some pics tonight... i hope Land settlement 4 May Building contracts signed 27 July Slab pour 26 March Frame started 10 May Bricks start 31 May Roof & Gutters Start 31 May gyprock 1 July Kitchen & cabinets/tiling 19 August Second fix plumbing 15 September Second fix electrical 22 September PCI 28 September viewtopic.php?f=31&t=29155 Re: Building in aldinga 5Feb 01, 2010 6:25 am thanks pugs Land settlement 4 May Building contracts signed 27 July Slab pour 26 March Frame started 10 May Bricks start 31 May Roof & Gutters Start 31 May gyprock 1 July Kitchen & cabinets/tiling 19 August Second fix plumbing 15 September Second fix electrical 22 September PCI 28 September viewtopic.php?f=31&t=29155 Re: Building in aldinga 6Feb 01, 2010 12:03 pm I've building down that way and now 14 months since it first started I am getting my keys Thursday. Also with that 6month thing and them holding off signing it . Just make sure they keep to the schedule. If it goes over 1 day or delayed because of them ,ring and email so you leave a paper trail a mile long. Re: Building in aldinga 8Feb 01, 2010 7:46 pm Aldinga! I love the Aldinga turkey bacon. Researched gardens, plants etc, but the last few months I will admist I was a bit over it all and just decided to ignore it all for a while! Re: Building in aldinga 14Feb 07, 2010 6:42 pm I've been told our final builders interview will happen this week... middle to end. So should i be hoping for around that time next week I think so... Ever since our sales guy left the company (poached by other builder) It has been so hard to find out what stage we're up to. When ever I call to chase something up I always get put through to someone different. We've had a few set backs along the way... ie... finding fill (no compaction cert.) then engineers assuming there was a compaction certificate so our engineering had to be re-done. an extra $15,000 later we were asking for more soil testing to be done. We managed to get this reduced by $5,000 so all up our footings came in around $26,000. Anyway after complaining that we no longer had anyone to contact directly, we were given the name and number of another sale's guy who would be able to keep things moving for us. I rang this guy and couldn't believe how quickly i was blown off (and not in a good way) He basically couldn't see why he needed to get involved... Do you think the fact he didn't get our signature therefore no commission had more to do with this than anything else The guy we were dealing with was really good(the one that left) he always chased things up for us and got back to us asap. But since he left, we've been left feeling a little in the way to say the least Most building company's assign you a ss once construction commences right??? Lets hope so... Our final sign off has been booked for 9:30 on Monday morning. We need to have the dimensions of these items for our sign off meeting, so guess who's been shopping this is our cooker Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ http://www.glemgas.com.au/Glem_Products/Freestanding/ML96GGESI.aspx This is the old model of the range hood. the one we got is the CK90 U (has an led and different buttons) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ http://www.emiliaappliances.com.au/Emil ... ehood.aspx We got this thrown in for free (normal price $799) which is good because we spent at least that much more on the oven than we intended...
