Pics of our Build (Blinds now in!) 23Mar 07, 2010 6:33 pm Hi all, Thanks for the lovely comments! I will have to get back to you regarding the tiles not sure off hand. Our blinds got put in today, the blinds guy is a friend of the builder so he went in and did them early. They look incredible! So happy with the way they look and the colours of the house and blinds together, really cant wait to put all my art and pictures up and start really decorating! We are thinking of doing the same with the windows. If you have a sheer view and a blockout, is there a way to have them all inside the window? Probably not and maybe a very silly question unless window cavity is deep enough to have two rollers? I never thought about how the 2 would sit until I saw your blinds. We are thinking of going black. Re: Almost Done now! Pics of our Build (Blinds now in!) 25Mar 07, 2010 6:54 pm Hi Dollar! To answer your question i'm pretty sure its no. We have translucent (not transparent) in the living rooms, so only the one blind (1st pic). So light will still come in a little but you can't actually make anything out visually. At night you can only see very, very slight movents and shadows if your up close. In bedrooms we got the double ones, with sheer and blockout. We originally wanted pelmets and we still do, but we decided to wait until we move in to see how we are with finances. As it turns out they dont look too bad without them so it wont be a super high priority for now. Im really happy with the colour i think the dark roller blinds are really striking and add lovely texture depending on the fabrics. Oh to edit - Personally I used to think tht rollers only look nice when done inside the frame or with pelmets, but i am really impressed with how ours came out. They look neater than i expected. We definitely be having something like this for our front two rooms. Re: Almost Done now! Pics of our Build (Blinds now in!) 28Mar 08, 2010 10:49 am Hi inamet09, your house is looking fantastic! Those PGH Chiara are gorgeous (we came close to picking them, ended up with PGH Oyster). Can you tell me ~ are your windows in Woodland Grey? They look fantastic. And those blinds are great, particularly those "double blinds" with the sheer and then the blockout over the top ~ brilliant colour. The Madagascar laminex looks brilliant, that whole kitchen bench is magnificent. I'm also jealous of your bathroom fittings ~ we came very close to chosing those little round mixers with the traditional hot/cold format ~ they look wonderful too. Is your carpet a grey? I'd love to know the details if they're handy (though we're quite a way off from picking carpet and flooring). You've done so well with the colours, you must be really pleased! ~ cheers, J _______________________________________________________________ We're a knockdown | rebuild ~ Melb SE burbs Building modified version of the Fairhaven Glenaire Homeone thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=28429 _______________________________________________________________ Re: Almost Done now! Cabinet handles were crooked & could see the HOLES behind the handles from drilling to big a hole. Pantry door had crack, dura edging was scratched on drawers, drawer runners were bent and the drawers were not set correctly and rubbed together.. etc Since xmas we have been waiting for them too fix these problems, they came in and did the SHODIEST job ever, and the freaking A$$HOLES have scratched a huge line down the visable edging of the freaking door they replaced and 4 massive scratches on the visable fridge side panel - which is siloconed to the bench and the splashback and the overheads.. know idea how they will go about fixing this up and im so scared they will damage more things so thanks to them, we wont be moving in on Friday and have no idea when we will be Moved In!!!
