It's coming along nicely! How can you tell that that car is a BMW??? THEY HAVE FINISHED THE HOUSE AFTER NINE LONG MONTHS... BUT! The carpet is the wrong colour... Re: Adenbrook VS M3tricon 106Oct 28, 2007 1:39 pm Matt, your eye for cars is as sharp as mine - Still I never thought that anyone would see my wife's shark fin??
On to the house...roof tilers didn't turn up on Friday as apparently Boral was short of people following the storm Thu night. Our supervisor has again promised Monday the roofers will be there...We have significantly lowered all expectations following our stint of 8-weeks with zero progress. Building for the 1st time with M3tricon Site Start was 19th July 07. It's been 2 weeks to Handover for the past 8 weeks. Go figure. Re: Adenbrook VS M3tricon 107Oct 28, 2007 5:07 pm We now have some "Goo" on all the windows - apparently this protects the windows from scratches during contruction.. it also has the side effect of making it impossible to see through which has made it hard to take pictures now that we are locked out. One window missed out on this treatment since it was broken so we got a shot of the kitchen
Through the edges of the windows (where the goo didnt reach) we could see we now have the ensuite and bathroom vanities, landry tub and cabintes and the kitchen island bench and cupboards installed. All the doors are in the living area ready to be installed on Monday. All the cornice and architraves should be done this week and the painters will start around Friday. isn't it exciting seeing the plaster on? I always hear people say that it feels like everything slows down after this stage but i think it sped up! (ok..so it took 5 months for us to get to plaster stage!) All the fittings were done very quickly. THEY HAVE FINISHED THE HOUSE AFTER NINE LONG MONTHS... BUT! The carpet is the wrong colour... Re: Adenbrook VS M3tricon 110Oct 30, 2007 1:57 pm What @denbr00ke home are you building BMP? Sorry if you're already said, I don't want to check all the posts.
We're looking at building a Lakewood 28 in South Brisbane. How have they been to deal with? Anything to look out for? Re: Adenbrook VS M3tricon 111Oct 30, 2007 3:39 pm Not much progress - but hey i'll post it anyway.

GriffBNE we are building the Hamilton with a few changes. I'd happily recommend Aden. I don't like the in office customer service girls or the colour girl as previous posts point out but our Sales Guy, Patick and our Supervisor, Glenn have been fantastic. It has moved along really quickly without any big problems at all. I felt they were very open in their dealings and could be trusted on - if we built again i would just use them rather than trying anyone else. Their upgrade package which we included is now standard and very much worth it. We live in South Bribane at the moment and we can help with any other queries you might have - no problem. Just build it the way I want and everything will be okay. Re: Adenbrook VS M3tricon 113Oct 30, 2007 8:15 pm That's really interesting bmp. We liked Patrick and thought he was very professional, but as soon as a problem came up with our block the whole company turned into a pain in the arse. I have heard great things about them in Brisbane but was VERY dissapointed in the end. After being given a major run around speaking to so many people at their head office, we decided to go elsewhere. They were really unaccommodating to us. Re: Adenbrook VS M3tricon 114Nov 01, 2007 10:46 am I think the main issue is never a company perse but the people within it. It's luck of the draw who you are going to deal with and if you get difficult people then you perceive the company as difficult and vice versa if you get good people.
The best any of us can do is to keep our eyes and ears open and do our research thoroughly. I've spoken with several people who make complaints about a builder but the heart of the matter seems to stem from their own mistakes, not reading contracts properly, not asking questions and not handling problems in a level headed manner. They then attempt to give the builder a bad name when they would have had the same problem with any builder had they conducted themselves in the same manner. There are so many factors involved in how a company performs that i truly believe every customer will have a different experience. That's why when choosing a builder the biggest reference is our own initial dealings with them and how we felt. Other than that - it's just going to be luck of the draw! Just build it the way I want and everything will be okay. Re: Adenbrook VS M3tricon 115Nov 01, 2007 12:24 pm The pics are not that great quality as they are from my phone and it was heavily overcast - but proud to say we now have a roof!!!

That a hell of a roofline you have there! I like it... Re: Adenbrook VS M3tricon 117Nov 01, 2007 3:04 pm GriffBNE What @denbr00ke home are you building BMP? We were very with Adenbrook, no problems at all and our house is just beautiful! We delt with the Gold Coast branch, though. Dena was great to deal with (customer service rep). Our Adenbrook home was completed in September. Re: Adenbrook VS M3tricon 118Nov 01, 2007 5:03 pm That's great news Ricci! Look forward to checking it out on the weekend. we can't get into ours so we might as well play around in yours!!! Just build it the way I want and everything will be okay. Re: Adenbrook VS M3tricon 119Nov 04, 2007 1:48 pm Finally got around to taking some better quality pics. Plumbing has been done and windows are due to go in early this week.
