Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Spot the problem 23Aug 05, 2007 10:11 am At the front the bricks look OK.. looks the same colour top and bottom on my monitor.
Down the side there looks like a colour difference but even if the bricks are a different shade an observer could easily attribute that to a shadowing effect. Maybe the effect is more obvious is real life.. and in a different light. Can you post some more pics from different times of the day? Personally, going by that one picture, I think it looks OK. Perhaps you can squeeze a few freebies from the builder by complaining about. But at the end of the day I don't think I'd lose sleep over it. Plenty of comments here for and against... you're probably even more confused now. Re: Spot the problem 24Aug 05, 2007 10:16 am thanks for the replies guys.
The bricks were by Boral. The problem is that I really can't afford to have the house delayed...as I am paying so much in rent at the moment....so may well go along with it. I'm just hoping that it won't be too much of a problem when it comes to sell the house. Hopefully after, I've put up plants, fencing etc, the eye will be taken away from the brick problem Re: Spot the problem 25Aug 05, 2007 2:29 pm I agree - it's not noticable on the front but you can tell down the side.
Also, is there a reason that the bricks stick out further on the front to the side than the actual house? I thought that the picture had been "stitched" but realised it's just at the front. Ray. Second Time 'Round Re: Spot the problem 27Aug 05, 2007 6:25 pm It is noticable though as you said, I think once the fencing and plants go in it will not be noticeable to anyone who doesnt already know and less to yourself. Once the house next door goes up it will be even less noticeable.
With all this said I still would be pushing for some form of compensation for the imperfection. After all you are paying alot of money for them to manage and build your house and they are the experts and should be aware of inconsitency in batches. Re: Spot the problem 29Aug 06, 2007 12:31 pm LOL... was thinking the same thing aaurora.
It is a little noticable in the pic but as Law18 said, no-one would tell once it is finished & established with landscape / neighbouring house goes up. Definately push the issue with the builder though... Freebies are good!! Cheers, Mike.
