Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 27, 2010 9:36 pm After near on a year of stuff arounds from banks and builders, my build is about to start! today or tomorrow was their estimated site start, now on both sides of our block we have Porter Davis houses almost completed, both with the same SS. We've been asked by our builder to contact the SS for PD (name and number supplied) to ask him to get their temp fences off our block and boundary. He doesnt seem too pushed to comply, just kinda yeah ill try get someone down in the next few days. Now the way I see it, its an easy job pushing some temp fencing back, and we've been delayed long enough, so since our builder is ready to start, im considering just going down there myself and kicking their bloody fences off my property. Am I within my right to do this? Re: Neighbouring builder (PD) slow to move temporary fences 2Jan 27, 2010 9:53 pm I'd say go for it. That said, if they're the chunky fences with the concrete footings/bases then you'll have a hard time moving them. I would recommend you call them again and simply tell the SS or Customer Rep that if they're not off your property within 24 hours you'll go to council to issue a fine. I know the Met SS who did the same thing with my block was quick to move when I said the same to him. Hmm I wonder if they're on your property if you'd be in your rights to just take them Re: Neighbouring builder (PD) slow to move temporary fences 3Jan 28, 2010 9:24 pm If your SS is not fussed what do you care? Your not the builder so if they need to be moved your builder will tell SS or it is so easy for the tradies to shift them over a bit. EVERYBODY throws their fences out wide. As youll soon see tempory fences are always all over the place. Seriously dont worry about it it isnt your problem. Our relationship with the owner is good, but I'm not sure if I want to impose putting a pole on their property. Your conversation with your neighbour must have gone well… 4 9315 Hi all, Our boundary perimeter fences need replacing (3 sides). From everyone's experience, what would you install? Timber lapped and capped OR colorbond? Thank you. 0 2875 Hi JW I just read your post and I find this situation quite strange. When we build, we get a temp pole for construction which becomes the permanent pole for one of the… 1 3944 |
