I logged on to find all of my trusted H1 friends, Lucene, Jessie, Dee, Kiwi, carlswill, Miss, cooped. Hugs and blessings to you all. Today I've been a bit flat. I've been packing and marking papers which is always a tedious job. DH sat down to work out what our residual mortgage will be. I felt a bit sad because we'd hoped to not have a mortgage but will end up with a smallish one. So to cheer me up DH took me to check out how much progress the tiler has made. I'm thrilled with the tiles. The better part of the family room had been tiled. It looks great. I will take some photos when finished. There isn't much to be done until the tiler is finished. Next week everything else internal will be completed. So we're on target for moving Feb 21. I've made endless trips to the Salvos to drop things off and have organized them to come and collect half a house full of furniture. Most of what we've had isn't worth taking with us. I'm not sorry to see the 60's dining table and buffet going. Nor the yucky old laminate wardrobes. It will be a relief. While I'm not doing much posting I am keeping up with others' builds. The lurking mainly has to do with feeling out of sorts. Thank you all for your kindness and friendship. Hopefully by the end of the week I may have some photos to post. Best of luck with everything. It must be great to see the last of the old stuff and know that you're moving in with new stuff. Good luck with the move. I hope everything stays on track. And I hope you are happier soon. contract signed: Nov 09 Released to Construction: 23 Jul 10 Slab poured: 9 Aug 10 Frame completed: 30 Aug 10 Windows & Gutters: 7 Sep 10 Bricks: 15 - 23 Sep 10 Roof: 24 Sep 10 Gyprock: 20 Oct 10 Lockup: 25 Oct 10 Kitchen: 27 Oct 10 Tiling: 6 - 9 Nov 10 Painting: 17 Nov 10 Carpet: 30 Nov 10 PCI: 15 Dec 10 Handover: 17 Dec 10 https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=35943 Re: Robinred's New House, WE HAVE KEYS!!! 609Feb 09, 2011 10:11 am Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Sorry to hear you are a bit down, building really tests our emotions that's for surehttp://i833.photobucket.com/albums/zz260/raezell2/EmoticonGoofy.gif I am really happy to know that you like your tiles (being your twin) and it would be really great if you could put some photos up before we lose our internet, so I could see them (did you notice its all about me). Re: Robinred's New House, WE HAVE KEYS!!! 611Feb 09, 2011 2:00 pm dont feel out of sorts...think of that wonderful furniture you lovingly looked after for others to now enjoy (I hope you arent feeling guilty cos of your new stuff...DONT. everyone is allowed new things once in their life..ie new couch, bed etc and your turn is now) maybe it is just the buzz of the build coming to an end. and you are thinking..now what. well I tell you what: it is the garden and making your home a welcoming drop in place for one and all. Having tea parties with new zealanders who randomly drop by!! you are exhausted that is all....in a few weeks it will all be over and we will be oowing and arrghging over your new towels, pictures and plants...you watch! Re: Robinred's New House, WE HAVE KEYS!!! 612Feb 20, 2011 10:32 am I'll swap our mortgage for yours Robin! Chin up-it won't be that long until you can enjoy the new house & welcoming your family to it! We're moved in and loving our house. Unfortunately it's in a broadband black spot but we've been approved for one of the satelite dishes thanks to the govt. We should have it in the next week or so then I'll be able to post some photos. Thank you all for your kindness through my flat time and especially to Lucene who is a rock in her own right. Tonight I'm looking after 2 of my granddaughters while son Phil and his wife Belinda are having their 3rd baby. I think it's going to be a long night for them both. But it's so exciting. The contract on our old house has been successful and settlement is on Monday. We've almost finished cleaning up and had to resort to getting a skip. At the new home everything is beautiful. Mind you, we have a garage full of boxes and I have no desire to clutter up the new place. Maybe I should just have a garage sale. On the financial side and adding to the confusion, I had a job interview last week and found out today that I got the job. So small mortgage?.... no worries. ATM the landscapers are busy. They've done a retaining wall at the back so we can level our yard. Then onto the fencing and paving. Once that's all completed the pergola can be installed. Despite all the frustration of building our new home feel so good to live in. Yes, it was worth it all. I hope I can upload photos soon for you to see. Much blessings to you and hugs from me. Handover February 2011 Happy with our home Re: Robinred's New House, WE HAVE KEYS!!! 618Feb 26, 2011 5:39 am that is great news!! whaoaoao! for the job too....GREAT!! Re: Robinred's New House, WE HAVE KEYS!!! 619Feb 26, 2011 11:33 am Yay! It sounds like lots of great things are happening! I can't wait to see the garden pics, paving and pergola when they are done! I'm hearing you on the not wanting to take the clutter to the new house! Go the garage sale- you might make some money and then you can buy more NEW stuff for your new house! Re: Robinred's New House, WE HAVE KEYS!!! 620Feb 26, 2011 3:14 pm That’s great to hear that it’s been all worth it to build your new home. Sounds like you’re enjoying it very much. Congratulations on the new job and contract on your old home. A garage sale sounds like a good idea or you can always eBay. I eBayed and donated items to the Salvos when we moved to our rental recently. My land is 260m2 (10m x 26m) located in claymore NSW. Under campbelltown council.
