Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 25, 2010 11:32 pm We are up to the colour selections side of things with our house through Coral, and there are few little things that we want to upgrade from the basic's and I am trying to get an idea of costs, so would appreciate any advice... only looking for rough idea's, just so we know what to budget! Wood stain front door instead of painted - it's this one in standard size Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ A row of feature tiles in the bathrooms - something like this but only one strip (tiler's costs - we have already found the tile we want and know how much it is) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ A row of feature tiles on the kitchen splashback - only a small area, roughly 1.5 metres as the majority of benchspace is the breakfast bar - similar to the bathroom one above but running horizontally instead of vertically (also just the tilers cost). Upgraded internal and external door handles... can't remember which one we liked, but didn't like any of the standard ones, so any suggestions on that would be good. Diamond gloss benchtops in kitchen. Anyone have a rough idea on prices? We will be paying cash for all of these as our finance app goes in this week, but we won't be doing the final colour selection for about 3 weeks, so will be too late to add to the finance, so I was hoping to work out approx what I need to have available. We upgraded our internal door handles to the 'Windsor' handles. It cost a total of $300 for 14 handles. We also upgraded our front door handle/lock to a Gainsborough Tri-lock and it cost $210. I'm sure someone else will be able to help you out with the other questions. HTH Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption.
