Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 25, 2010 8:36 am Thanks to poochies thread I got an answer to the question I was too embarrassed to ask. So this post is a tester............
TESTING TESTING....................... AARRGGHH-I wasn't expecting to change my whole first post! This was editted from my original because I was trying to work out how to add to the threads heading. Michelle kindly explained how to do it but then I went on to actually change my first post so I'll start again....... ( silly me - ggrrr) My "issys hamilton alfresco" story began like this- Hi,my name is Issy and I'm building Hickinbothams 'Hamilton Alfresco' out on the Adelaide plains. I signed my contract Dec '08, site scrape 3rd week of Aug '09, slab laid in the 4th week, frame started 2nd week in september. Hand-over was offered on 22/12/09 and we refused to accept it. If you read on to the next couple of pages you will see why..... Re: Issys 'Hamilton Alfresco' 2Jan 25, 2010 10:48 am Wow Issy Jo, just checked out the plan and what a huge pantry!!!! I also love the open plan living! Cant wait to hear your colour choices and see some pics Re: Issys 'Hamilton Alfresco' 4Jan 25, 2010 6:24 pm Hi, as soon as I can work out how to upload the photos it will be a picfest paradise! Ive got onto photobucket but when I try to do the next bit, ie- when I do the "add file" underneath this bit I keep getting told my 'board attachment quota' has been reached. I'm not sure what this means or what to do so I'll have to get my friend to help me tomorrow. Did I mention that I am a total 'virgin' when it comes to all this stuff? Re: Issys 'Hamilton Alfresco' 5Jan 25, 2010 6:39 pm Issy - copy & paste the IMG code directly into your post That should work for you viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22766 - my build thread! Time waits for no man. Unless that man is Chuck Norris. Re: Issys 'Hamilton Alfresco' 7Jan 25, 2010 7:10 pm Are you copying it into the text of your post? So you'd put it here: [IMG]... Instead of putting it into the *add file* section down the bottom? viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22766 - my build thread! Time waits for no man. Unless that man is Chuck Norris. Re: Issys 'Hamilton Alfresco' 9Jan 25, 2010 7:12 pm How weird... cause thats all i do when attaching piccies... i copy the IMG code from the picture in photobucket and stick it in here. I think there's a help post on attaching photo's around here somewhere. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22766 - my build thread! Time waits for no man. Unless that man is Chuck Norris. Re: Issys 'Hamilton Alfresco' 10Jan 25, 2010 7:13 pm grr and bugga! I'll keep trying and if I cant get it soon I'll wait til my friend comes tomorrow.......... PS- thanks anyway Jodie Re: Issys 'Hamilton Alfresco' 11Jan 25, 2010 7:19 pm In Photobucket, it's the "direct link" code that you want, not one of the other choices. Then just paste it between the square brackets: If it still won't work, just paste the code directly into your post, without the tags. One of us should be able to pick it up and get it to work. I'm that way with my bathroom tile choices, esp with my daughters bathroom. I spent alot of $$ in my kitchen upgrades so the bathroom tiles stayed in the 'bronze' (standard) range. Although I did upgrade both toilets and our basins and taps. Here's some more pics I took out quickly with my mobile last night after I got all excited when I saw my first lot of pics in my thread. The view from my lounge room bay window looking out to the road- check out all the landscaping area that needs to be thought about ........ later Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Check out my pantry..... take notice of the paint can on the floor in both pics, it might give you an idea of the size. This shot was taken by implanting myself right into the wall where the entry is. The original plan didn't have the window in it. I had to add it in because I hate having to turn lights on during the day! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Do you think I'll cope? Did I say before that I built this straight from the plan? No display home to walk through so I had no real concept on how big this pantry was going to be!! I think I should have a dozen more kids NOT! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Next is our kitchen. The benchtops are Laminex 'Ebony' Marble Diamondgloss (DONT TOUCH MY BENCHTOPS WITH YOUR GRUBBY LITTLE MITS!!!) My OH chose this. Does anyone know if they are hard work at looking like a cloth hasn't wiped across from left to right (and vice-versa). He thought diamondgloss would be easy to keep clean but now I'm not so sure The cupboards are KT3 PVC white gloss 'plain face' profile with a 'bullnose' edge. I wanted to keep my kitchen relatively easy to clean (seeing that it doesn't clean itself! ) in particular my cupboard doors. The glass splashback is 'Platinum'. You cant really see the slightly sparkly detail in it (glass is so hard to photograph). We were thinking about bright red but it would be too hard to change the colour scheme down the track so I'll be on the hunt soon for some funky red appliances! The guy who put the splashback in scratched 2 of my cupboard doors (GGRRRR!) and got silicone all over the splashback as well as the benchtops (double GGGRRRRRR!!!!!). I wonder if he will be the one to be called back in to clean it off but whoever will do it has their work cut out for them. Throughout these pics you'll notice lots of "warning" signs for the tradies. The sparky came in and up he plonks his crate, right on top of the warning sign the builder left on it . So my OH prints out his own and plasters one on nearly every horizontal surface and nearly all the cupboard doors. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ HELLOOOOOOO from the ensuite...... It's so annoying when you put in all that work and then the internet monster gobbles it up I haven't seen my kitchen/bathroom in the flesh yet (not at lockup) but I am very worried that we have gone too dark We'll see, I shouldn't get too worried because we have approached this whole build with the mentality of not spending more than we need to on things we can easily change 5 years down the road. Your kitchen is looking fab, I think the white spashback + dark benchtop really work well together. Very swish, and the integrated exhaust hood looks awesome. Your walk in pantry does look HUGE though I'll trade you some of mine, I would LOVE more Last picture is hilarious, made my morning Re: Issys 'Hamilton Alfresco' 17Jan 26, 2010 12:29 pm Just gorgeous.
