My admin told me that I can't get a full floor plan which reflect the specifications I want (like extral ceilling height, the bedrooms and family room location reverse structure) because my land is not titled yet so they can't get all the necessary information. So they can only give me a preliminary if I want to sign the contract before land title. I was really wondering if this is true? It's certainly not a hard and fast rule, but it may be the way Burbank does things. Our land wasn't titled till late November, but we had drawings done in July - they just used the Plan of Subdivision for the site plan. Soil tests weren't done till October because the land wasn't accessible before then, and construction drawings weren't done till just before site start, because sewer easement diagrams weren't available... There was a bit of movement in the price due to those things affecting site costs, but they certainly didn't halt the process, and all of our upgrades and extras were included in the plans from the start. The only difference between our contract drawings and construction drawings is a dotted line on the site plan, showing where the sewer runs.
