Re: Slab this week - Celebration Homes 8Jan 23, 2010 12:18 am That is fantastic MNH!! Wow!! 10days to sell that is excellent! You must be feeling so excited! Prestart meeting will be organised by them in no time! And it is so much fun Id love to do my prestart again haha! Have you spent lots of time looking through your selections folder - colours etc? We would go for endless walks around Clarkson just looking at people's colour choices and putting together our own! Great fun! Hare1 thanks for your reply! How is your build going? I saw on your notes slab down on the 8th of Jan? Thats great news! Where are they up to now? Any exciting deliveries like window frames or even bricks? Do you have any photos up on here? Im still learning a bit with this forum so Ill attempt to put some slab pouring photos up now! What a great day its been Im looking forward to the next few months ahead! Cant wait to see changes! I shall keep in contact alot more! Rosie Re: Slab this week - Celebration Homes 10Jan 23, 2010 8:53 am I have been spending alot of time looking at colours now. But before the house sold I actually did open the folder as we had only about 6 weeks to sell our house because of when titles should be released otherwise we would not have been able to go through with it all. So I didn't want to get excited just in case our house didn't sell. But......don't have to worry about that now so yep I am right into my colours. Though I am finding it really hard with what colour render I want for the front. And also the kitchen as I don't want the colours to date but want a bit more colour in it then white cupboard and benches. Do the prestart consultants help you out alot if you need it?? With the photos if you go to www.photobucket.com and download your photos onto that site then you can copy the link from the photos onto here. Building in Perth. Celebration homes Oasis. Pre-start complete 25th March 2010 Titles due April 2010 Re: Slab this week - Celebration Homes 11Jan 23, 2010 10:20 am Hi MNH I know what you mean about colour selection for the kitchen, its scary there are so many to choose from aswell. We went the light bench tops with dark cupboards. The colour we picked for our cupboards is called Licorice Linea - sounds like it should be a black colour but its not, its like a brown streaky colour. We saw it in one of their Celebration Display homes in Butler. Another place to look is Bunnings, they have lots of different kitchen styles and then they have every 'Laminex Colour Tag' you could imagine. I guess another thing you have to think about is what colour flooring you will have in the kitchen area - you dont want it blending too much with the cabinets. Ahh so much to think about but lots of fun, our pre start consultant was Sally and she was great - very helpful but not pushy about upgrades. I think they are trained to tell you what looks good together and give you different ideas. We picked a creamy colour render because our bricks are the Jurien bricks which is a creamy colour so we wanted it to blend. Hopefully it looks as good as we imagine it will! Thank you for the photo bucket tip, I have uploaded a few photos (see below) hope I have done it right! We are off to Busselton for the weekend, cant wait need a break! Chat soon! Let me know if there are any tips you need for prestart stuff. Id love to help! What house design are you building? Do you have the plans to upload (purely for selfish sticky beaking hehe)? We have all the frames and bricks delivered and they will start bricking Monday WOOHOO, really should update our thread hmm. It all starts happening now for you. Each day we would go to visit after the first week of slab, there was always work happening being pipes, electrics, shed, deliveries etc. Hoping it happens quickly for you, the race is on between us. Now I think about it I must have driven past when they were laying the slab because I saw that big hose thingy but couldn't see what it all was as your block is a tad higher then the road. Looks like a very nice slab indeed I think you and I might have very similar tastes. I LOVE the kitchen at the Butler display and that is where my heart keeps going. I have been seeing alot of white kitchens of late and I was thinking 'Maybe that is what I should have' but I think I have to go with my heart and have the same colours as the display home. We want creamy coloured tiles so the dark cupboards wont be a problem. I have to check but I think the Jurien brick is my first brick colour too, otherwise I know it is my second. I love light coloured bricks. We will be having a surfmist CB roof and am thinking about a creamy/light brown coloured render too. Just showed my husband the pics of your slab, he is going to Surge gym this morning so said he will drive past and have a peek......looks like you have stalkers now Have a great weekend away. We went to Busselton a couple of weeks ago and the water was just like a warm bath, perfect!! Have fun. Building in Perth. Celebration homes Oasis. I love it down there and may I mention there is a HEAP of building happening in the southwest also! MNH - I think our tastes are very much alike! I love that kitchen at the Butler display, that is where we chose our colours from! I think go with your heart. You will see when you get to prestart all the different combinations and I guarantee that you will keep leaning towards those colours you like! Plus with the tiles you have in mind sounds like it will fit perfectly! and no way are you being a stalker, please please keep an eye on our block, stop and have a look when you have a chance. Chris and I have been looking at the houses that are being built across the road from the Whale & Ale. I just love seeing other people's progress! In a week about 4 or 5 slabs have gone down in that area. Its really exciting and I am so interested, we are learning all the stages - I hope other people dont mind us looking at their building progress hahaha! Hare1 I cant wait to start seeing all those little deliveries to our block, we saw a shed had appeared while we had been away! I was so excited - I had to take a photo haha!! I cant wait to see your progress too please keep us updated! The house plan we chose is the Pavillion - I dont have a plan on this computer but I will surely try and get one uploaded soon. We have made a few changes to the plan but not too many. We enclosed the front lounge room to make it like a mini cinema and we moved a few doors. I also added a door to the laundry and linen cupboard and upgraded the laundry sink to a cabinet with a bench. Chris got the Cinema room I got the fancy laundry haha! I cant wait for the next stage guys! I will post pics as they appear! Hope you are having a great week!!
