Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 18, 2010 10:20 pm Hi all, so glad I found this forum!! My builder signed me up just before the 21k grant expired in September - telling me I would still be elegible. I had the grant approved, and land settlement has gone through, however it is nearing the 26 week cut off for construction to commence (April) and I just found out today my builder only just sent in the building licence application today! (which I signed more than a month ago!!). I called the city of wanneroo who said their turn around was 12 weeks and I could not request it to be looked at any quicker. With that turn around it doesn't look like the slab will be laid by April! Builder keeps saying 'don't worry'. But I'm definately going to kick up a fuss tomorrow!! I also hear the FHOG dept are not very flexible with extensions. Anyone else gone through this? goodife homes -The Franklin- Yanchep Re: May not get my FHOG 21k due to delays! 2Jan 19, 2010 10:32 am Many people are in the same boat, including myself.. Basically as long as it is not caused by yourself then you are still eligible.. Just get a letter from your builder, that outlines they acknowledge the reason for the delay on their side, and then back it up with anything on the councils side. Present this evidence to the office of state revenue and it should be approved. It must happen to alot of people considering land is never finished on schedule and the SRO keep telling us its in the big pile whenever we call to check! Re: May not get my FHOG 21k due to delays! 4Jan 19, 2010 12:47 pm your builder doesn't necessarily go through the council for permits. Depends where you are, but in Vic majority go through independent building surveyors to avoid the headaches of dealing with very slow councils! I engaged my builder in December last year and we’ve been working on preliminary drawings for last couple of months. I got a call from the salesperson this morning… 0 505 Just to makea point about this, an approach that some people have found sucessful in negotiating these rises down, Is to provide some workings to the builder, specifying… 4 81712 In fairness nobody gave a crap about the ACCC and the gag clauses continued in the pro forma templates of a few other builders after the ACCC took on Wisdom, and more… 19 73469 |
