What are the best walls to paint as feature walls.

Walls with windows to show up the architraves
Walls behind a TV
Full walls

Having troubles deciding what wall to paint in the rumpus room

Thanks guys for your help here
From what I've learnt so far... full walls. you can place artwork to highlight it further. Perhaps post a photo/layout of the room and I'm sure you'll get plenty of helpful feedback
I agree with vpande, full wall. I would add usually opposite entry.
ours are : Master bedroom - will be behind bed (full wall)
Foyer - will add fairly big painted art to it (full wall)
Rumpus - All walls painted dark colour for home theatre.

Two 90 deg walls of an open area can look great too - seen that in a few displays in open living areas etc.

Ours are exactly the same!

Scary

It is all a matter of taste I reckon - no right or wrong.

Personally, I don't like feature walls and reckong they were cool in the 1990s and for that reason I am not doing any in my home - although one day I might decide to change a few years time...
I love feature walls

Though I think the trick is to still have some uniformity in the colour choices and not have too many of them or they lose their effect....meaning I wouldn't have a different feature wall colour in every room of the house!

I like them best on full walls though it really does depend on the style of the house and the light....sometimes they look great running down an entrance hall for example

In the new place I'll be doing them:

1) In Main Bedroom - behind bed (chocolate)
2) The Picture recess at end of the entry (dark dark purpley colour)
3) In the Games Room - behind the TV (same colour as picture recess)

Hope this helps

This really does depend on wether you have architectural designs in your home.

ie…….Cutouts, niches, or walls just crying to be different from their shapes, Curved walls!

For me they are walls most obvious to the eye. No windows in them, no doors in them, no big entertainment unites in front of them either!
You use walls that stand on their own, no other distractions interfering with them.

Hope this has helped.
