If so how many more TV connections can you add and what was the cost per point? Hi there A350XWB, we've built with PD and have 4 FTA TV points. It can be expanded to really any number you want, but the splitter unit in the box in the garage may need to be upgraded to do so, depending on how many points you currently have / want. Get in touch with John from Wired Life (http://www.wiredlife.com.au) if you want a more accurate assessment... he lives in the estate. Re: Building in Saltwater Coast - Point cook 492Jun 25, 2012 11:38 am HI All, I have a 580m2 block with 19.03m Frontage on Mystic Grove in Saltwater Coast, Me and my wife were planning to build but we have to move to Perth-WA for work reasons. Hence, we have decided to put the block on market. If anyone is interested then please call me on 0438 400 272. Thanks, Sam Re: Building in Saltwater Coast - Point cook 493Oct 10, 2012 1:51 pm Would be good to have some of the following: 1. Residential Shopping Center 2. Bus Services 3. Bike Track that connects from Northern part of Saltwater Coast with Esperance / Cheetham Wetland Bike Track (It's painful to ride in this area atm...). 4. Saltwater Promnade connects with Point Cook Road - won't be long I guess. Can be 5. Tunnel under the sea direct to St Kilda/Brighton LoL Cheers Re: Building in Saltwater Coast - Point cook 494Oct 30, 2012 3:40 pm Hi We have just brought a block of land in SC and have been visiting the builders. In regards to site cost how much has in cost everyone. We got a quote from one builder and they told us it would cost 20k??? Is this too much? Thanks Building in Saltwater Coast - Point cook 495Nov 03, 2012 6:42 am ![]() Hi We have just brought a block of land in SC and have been visiting the builders. In regards to site cost how much has in cost everyone. We got a quote from one builder and they told us it would cost 20k??? Is this too much? Thanks Congrats on the purchase. Whereabouts in the estate did you buy? Site costs vary depending on the soil composition and the type of house you're building, plus any requirements for retaining walls etc. If you are keen on the builder, get detail on why it is 20k... Or if you're still shopping around get another quote to compare. A lot of the time, the quote is quite rough and the exact costs aren't known until a site survey is done... This can work both ways though. Are they fixing at 20k or only costing a provisional sum? If you really like the builder (and don't let them know that!), and the 20k site costs still doesn't add up to you, threaten to walk on the basis that it is double what you budgeted... There are many stories where revised quotes come back a whole lot cheaper... What have you got to lose! Although the pessimist in me says they'll probably recover it in other areas - watch out for that... Good luck with your build, and welcome to the neighborhood! Re: Building in Saltwater Coast - Point cook 498Dec 28, 2012 1:57 pm Hi All, Moving into one of the Display homes in February - looking forward to it. Can anyone tell me where is the beach located in Saltwater Coast (supposedly 5 minutes walk)? Thanks guys! Kapa2012 Re: Building in Saltwater Coast - Point cook 499Feb 13, 2014 8:07 am Hey this thread seems to have bitten the dust, but i read through the whole thing and was interested in getting some up to date feedback on the saltwater coast estate. If you are there, how did it all pan out, are you happy with the estate, did it go well, how long does it take you to get to work? We are considering building with PD and Point Cook / Berwick is on our agenda. I like Point Cook as its closer to the city and being close to the water is nice, closer to the airport is a definite plus, disadvantages are less public transport and busy roads, less facilities or schooling situation is there enough decent schools for children in the area? The other consideration is flooding, since Saltwater estate is only 6m above sea level, its something in the back of my mind for the future. it looks to still have land available and a standard block is probably around 300K, which is not bad these days i guess. if you are in this estate, let us know how you got on cheers Les Re: Building in Saltwater Coast - Point cook 500Feb 26, 2014 10:45 pm Hi Les Traffic is really bad in Point Cook in general, from SWC which is about 8km to the freeway and train station (Aircraft) in a bad day it can take 30-45min just to get to the train station, and bad days are very common in Point Cook. There are 2 new estates Paragon (next to SWC) and Adresse (still under construction) on Point Cook road both will add to the ongoing traffic problem. SWC is nice and quiet area and is great for outdoor lifestyle with nice bay views. Yet, the progress of the development of the estate is slow, I have noticed a rise in investment properties in SWC. Not too sure about schools in the area, but a new primary school just opened in SWC. IMO depending on the size of the block you are thinking of buying 300K is expansive for this area and some parts of Point Cook in general.
