Re: S1monds Flagstone 2200- Slab is in!!! 42Jun 24, 2010 11:07 pm Update Went to the site on Sunday. The temporary toilet and the big bin were on site . Nothing else had happened apart from that. I can't really expect much work to be done as weather in Melb on Friday and Saturday wasn't good Went again on Tuesday as my CSO told that slab will be done by Tuesday if weather was ok. I didn't had much expectation as weather wasn't good. Slab wasn't there but pipes and drainage has been finished. So something to cheer about . We signed the building contract on 22nd Dec. So, it is now confirmed that we have to apply for FHOG extension since slab wasn't finished within 26 weeks (6 months) This morning received a call from CSO that slab has been completed. Was so excited and decided to go and have a look during the lunch hour. I even skipped the lunch . And..... slab is in! yay When i was there few tradies were at work, even during lunch time So decided to let them carry on not to go and have a closer look... There are few other S's houses also being built in the estate as well. Looks like theirs progressing well. Fingers crossed for ours will too.... I'm working close to city and it took less than hour to drive to the land and come back. So starting to feel confident about the decision on suburb and location as well . ps: I know, your outlook and judgment on things influenced by your mood Re: S1monds Flagstone 2200- Site start yesterday! 43Jun 25, 2010 2:16 pm That is great news danu Congratulations on your slab, hopefully we wont be too far behind you S1monds Flagstone 2200- Lots of pics, I mean lots and lots.. 44Jul 16, 2010 2:51 am cous1981 That is great news danu Congratulations on your slab, hopefully we wont be too far behind you Thanks cous! Hopefully yours progressing well as well. My last post was more than 2 weeks now. Sorry, being bit busy with house and work stuff (and lazy as well). Your house is flying along, how am I supposed to catch you now? I love your choice of feature tile for the bathroom and ensuite. We didn't get to choose ours at fashion tiles, I was so disappointed. The S Tile gallery didn't have as many choices, but i'm pretty happy with what we ended up with. I'm sure your house will also fly along once the slab work starts . I heard things will slow down once the lockup stage is reached. Going to the site this weekend, our cso told that roof has been finished and plastering and bricks will hopefully start next week. There are few other S's houses being built within couple hundred meters of our house. looks like they are progressing well as well. There is another S's house 100m away from us with the same floor plan but a different facade. They are one or two weeks ahead of us. Have been keeping an eye on how it's progressing It's bit of a risk to go with red feature tiles. We hope it will add some "spice" and think it will complement the neutral colours we have (mainly shades of brown). We are thinking of using red as a feature colour through out the house. only in few feature areas and hopefully will not over do it. carlswil Congratulations on your progress so far. Your house is looking really good. thanks for the complement, carlswil. ya, happy with the progress after the site start. Hopefully it will stay the same. And a little surprise as well Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ One more surprise when I called our SS today to discuss the progress of two outstanding issues. He is no longer with S1monds! It's pety, he seems like a nice guy. Anyway, we have a new SS assigned and going to meet him onsite tomorrow. Hopefully the new guy is good. I loved the look of the malt on the austral website, but they are much different in real life (like the snaking pattern). Wasn't sure how they would look - but the tones are just great! Will be ace to see them once they're cleaned, too. Well done, you!
