I can't believe you've had PCI already!! It looks amazing - love the storage, the laundry shute, the facade.... and you still have that massive backyard as well! Here's hoping they can sort out those few 'mistakes' as well and get you in there soon. What are you doing about the driveway? Is the builder sorting that out? When do you think you'll be ready to move? Built with Sw1tch H0mes >Build thread< House status 15/12: Gates and A/C finally installed! BTW, this is the greatest explanation of how I felt too (and still do !!! - the proof is that the house still isn't finished! ) - I mean "can't wait but not ready yet" SunshineT Hey VT - how exciting for you. It is all coming together beautifully. I love your ceiling fan in the Master. We are getting 4 fans in our place (which we have to source ourselves). Do you recall how much you paid for your fan and where you got it from? We want something similar to yours! T Oh! and the ceiling fan is the Futura from Beacon Lighting. It also has a model with a light included (not what we chose) ~ and may also come in white? ~ not entirely sure. I think it was about $150 but I can't remember now if this was the sale price or not. It's current stock I believe... (more fan pictures in a minute!). _______________________________________________________________ We're a knockdown | rebuild ~ Melb SE burbs Building modified version of the Fairhaven Glenaire Homeone thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=28429 _______________________________________________________________ Re: Sept update ~ still going! +pics! :: our Fairhaven Glena 580Sep 20, 2011 10:55 pm buildingwest Hi VT The house is looking fantastic and I love your kitchen and pantry. Great colour selections and thought in the plan. Hope the keys are with you soon. westy So much progress J! Driveway ~ a lovely person has given us their bloke ( ~ waving at Heritage Springs...) *BUT* we haven't ended up with him as DH has sorted out a recommendation from a tradie mate... This has turned out to be a lot bigger than we originally planned (which was big enough to begin with ) ~ due to the recommendations that most of us have (the CSIRO "foundation maintenance" guide) ~ so we added a metre path around the whole house which will have the appropriate sloping to ensure that NO water will be pooling next to the slab AT ALL. (This all had to be added to the landscape plan + endorsed by the council accordingly... ... true!) Then we add our two crossovers. These have to be done to council spec, incl. heavy duty reo, etc. We would have had crushed rock/gravel like we used to before, but council says you are not allowed to do this anymore. These are not small, we have a huge nature strip. So each crossover is 6.5 metres long. We had to have a circular driveway ~ well we had one before too ~ due to no footpaths or gutters in our street, just a ditch out the front next to the road. Very Nasty Business to reverse out + not go in the ditch . Just saying. Limited parking in the street (ditches Not Helping here). Kids will grow + get cars + they will be able to park them out the front. Phew. Then we have our drainage plumber guy, who had his second visit out there tonight... he + the concreter will be cooperating on the driveway + garage grate drains we're putting in, so all should be good (but we haven't seen his final price yet ). So busy days! And expensive! _______________________________________________________________ We're a knockdown | rebuild ~ Melb SE burbs Building modified version of the Fairhaven Glenaire Homeone thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=28429 _______________________________________________________________ Looking at some of the designs on websites, they are all selling very similar products. I get that you want something stylish. It's worth looking for search terms like SaveH2O… 2 7006 We are looking to do a KDR with fairhaven homes, Have seen plenty of good reviews about them pre construction and plenty of negative reviews about them during contruction… 0 18038 |
