I currently have tr3nd windows here re-installing all my sliding doors and the stacker door. They have dropped and are scrapping when we open the doors. Anyway, I sent an email to our builder with a list of items that need fixing (19 things to be exact at the time - but we are now up to about 23 things) and we asked if any of them can be fixed now. Well our builder came back and said all those things can wait until our 6 month maintenance review. Me and DH can't even open the doors cos they are scratching on the frame work and our builders said it wasn't "urgent" . All the inside doors open to the outside alfresco and we kind of want to be able to open our doors between now and February (the 6 month review). So anyway, I just contacted T windows myself and arranged for someone to come out and re-align and adjust them. When I explained the situation to T, they lady I spoke to there was appalled at our builders for not arranging them to be fixed and the fact I had to - lol! The poor guy's been here for ages. He's had to take all the doors off (and those doors are bl00dy heavy too), re-adjust and realign. Hopefully it fixes the problem. I also have the stonesmason coming out this morning to assess our c/stone benchtop cos they are a nightmare to deal with. Honestly I would not recommend getting stone - laminex is far easier to clean and look after. My stone fingerprints all the time, has smudges on it and they are looking into the glue marks and scratches that the builder's tradies so kindly left for us on there. So I'll update on this issue too after they've been. Re: n&n02 - Some new pics - facade and gardens 504Nov 10, 2010 10:49 am This was the problem with the stacker doors scratching and not sliding properly:
http://i831.photobucket.com/albums/zz237/nandn02/P1010020.jpg They were rusted and the guy said they were probably left in water on our site prior to being installed and our builder's installer has just fitted them (I only just found out that T don't install the windows, the builders do and then T come back to do maintenance on them). The guy took them and said that he needs to show his area manager. I quickly got some photos while he was adjusting all our other windows and doors in case i need to show our builders. These are the new ones he installed (on the left): http://i831.photobucket.com/albums/zz237/nandn02/P1010026-1.jpg We also have some other issues with the door frames and tracks not being straight and aligned - they are installed tilted on an angle and not flush or straight. I need to contact our builders (which I have done) and they need to come back and take the tracks off, pack them up and then re-install the tracks and runners and then T will come back out to realign the doors and do the paint touch ups. The paint on the doors never got touched up (our builders gave DH a can of paint for us to do it ourselves), but the T guy will come back and do the paint touch ups after our builders have realigned the tracks and frames. On the plus side, the stacker door is sliding so much better now. I thought it was hard to slide due to the weight and size of the door. He said it will be even better once the other issues get fixed up. Re: n&n02 - Stacker door issues 505Nov 10, 2010 12:11 pm Grrr...what a tosser of a builder! Deemaree Kyndylan Capers: viewtopic.php?f=36&t=46852 My blog: http://www.sufficientlysufficient.blogspot.com/ Re: n&n02 - Stacker door issues 506Nov 10, 2010 8:26 pm A very interesting point on the sliders/rollers ... our windows are much harder to slide than the big heavy sliding doors and we were told it's because windows have plastic wheels, while the doors have something better (some kind of metal, I assume). There was also a side comment that our window supplier is a lower quality because they do plastic rollers on windows (but not doors) ... It looks like your doors have plastic wheels and I thought Trend was a better quality supplier Wonder what would Trend say if you ask them about rollers and what difference does it make (if any). My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... Re: n&n02 - Stacker door issues 507Nov 11, 2010 11:32 am Wow just caught up with your thread N. Your garden looks fabulous. Good selection of plants. The lawn just lifts up the whole garden and is a great contrast to your front facade. Must be so pretty and night with the lights and the white flowers. Btw whats the plant that flowers white by your front window? and the grass with purple flowers on the side of driveway? the others are gardenia's right. Reminds me i have to update my thread and add some garden photos. Still havnt done anything to my front garden. Not sure what plant will go with the Negra? Well we too have a bit of issue with one of our sliding doors which is a bit difficult to slide open, we were told it is due to having extra large doors and after using more often it will open more smoothly. The Trend guy didn't mention anything though and he seemed to think it was the norm to fit those Re: n&n02 - Stacker door issues 510Nov 11, 2010 12:46 pm 2pais Wow just caught up with your thread N. Thanks 2pais!! I think the white ones near the front windows are agapanthas and same with the purple ones . I'll have to check on that plant schedule thing they gave us. The gardenias smell so pretty too Yes, would love to see more of your house photos - so post away . I have to update some of my internal house photos now that things are in more order. Hmmm, would probably look into your sliding door a bit more. Have you had any maintenance periods with your builder? We get one only at 6 months. How have you found your builder post-handover? Re: n&n02 - Stacker door issues 511Nov 11, 2010 2:09 pm brb_654 Gorgeous, well done!! I can't believe we got keys at the same time and you have a front garden Thanks barb! I think I posted in an earlier comment that this was done through the developer as part of a package thing when we purchased our land. We would be no where near finished if we had to do it ourselves . Re: n&n02 - Stacker door issues 512Nov 11, 2010 2:51 pm n&n02 Thanks barb! It all ties in very nicely! I love the external colours too, well done in a short time frame! Re: n&n02 - Stacker door issues 514Nov 12, 2010 2:55 pm Ms Builder Wow your house looks beautiful! It all ties in very nicely! I love the external colours too, well done in a short time frame! Thanks for the compliment!! We are very much enjoying our new home!! Re: n&n02 - Stacker door issues 516Dec 09, 2010 12:03 pm Gorgeous house you have!! I came across your thread while searching for colours to use with dune. Your colours are very complimenting and look great. Just wondering who you built with as your plan is quite different from many plans that I’ve come across. Re: n&n02 - Stacker door issues 517Dec 10, 2010 8:30 am 2pais We too have six months time frame. So far no problems. That's good news 2pais. BTW I like your fence painted . I'm currently nagging at DH to do some painting. Just mainly with the render - def needs another coat, the paint is super thin and our letterbox has concrete on it from the concretors so DH will need to re-paint that too. Good luck with your colour selections Re: n&n02 - Stacker door issues 519Dec 15, 2010 7:51 pm I am relatively new to this so just found your thread & I just wanted to say that I absolutely love your house! Your layout is fantastic and I love your kitchen, the colours, facade, everything! You must be so happy and proud! I can only hope that our build will turn out as well as yours! Sure looks like the type of track that I fitted to my house. My supplier said that the underside has a tray which drains to the front. They cut vertical slots in it.
