I have a major concern that has been buggin me for quite some time. I've added a new pic to my blog to show you what I mean. During the early days of construction and leveling of the site I assumed that H3nley would excavate the entire surface area that works needed to be done. The image clearly shows that the area is not clearly level. My question that I'm seeking advice from is, as a builder do they have the responsibility to clear the area and make sure that the ground is level. I should have asked this question much earlier during our building process which is slack on my part... Seeing that most of the plumbing will be done on this side of the house, can I have H3nley complete what I think should be there responsibility to have cleared during the initial rock removal and clearing of the site.... I've had a few quotes from people and they've all shook their heads saying it is the builders responsibility to remove the rocks. Can you imagine trying to remove rocks when all the equipment and plumbing is in... You advice would be greatly appreciated as I'm banging my head against the wall right now... Nath Re: Carnaby Home Design - H3nley Properties 53Sep 10, 2008 12:29 pm Okay, today I'm on the phone with the Big T...unfortunately they are the only company that supply the copper connection to our local exchange.
For those that are in this stage when you call Telstra and will be requesting activaiton of broadband in the future...make sure you tell them specifically install the service with the following: 1. - DSL Ready 2. - Not installed on a RIM 3. - No complex services added (Faxstream, messagebank etc etc) This will prevent any further work being done to the exchange in the future... Next call will be to Service Stream to request the trenching, lead in cable and our Madison Box...thanks Phoenix I had no idea what that was before... Called our Site supervisior and he has given us the all clear to proceed. Had a look around our house yesterday our H3nley has resurfaced our garage flooring and it's nice and smooth since I raised my concerns about the surface affected areas. Well done to H3nely for remembering to have this done for us. Got an email from our administrator last week, and we should be hearing something from the handover department this week. We're getting all our ducks line up...flooring, concreting, telephone, security system...so we're not to far away... Will post pics again when we got further access to the house... Nath Any advice anyone? Re: Carnaby Home Design - H3nley Properties 55Sep 14, 2008 7:10 pm I've been to our house today and was having a look around.
I noticed when I walked around the house there was PVC sticking out of the ground so I pull it out, and I noticed the drainage for the storm water seems to be a little higher than normal. So I cleared the area and it is defintely not buried enough. I had a look at the other downpipes/pvc around our house and the other drainage further down was also not buried enough. The plumbers have just moved dirt over it so no one can notice. I've just posted a couple of pictures on my blog cause I don't know how to post on this forum. Question is: Does the drain/PVC need to be buried to a certain depth, my thoughts is if I have my concretors working in this area, there is no way they'll be able to concrete if the PVC is at that height... Would appreciate any feedback on regulations and requirements for plumbers to bury the PVC to a certain depth. Thanks...
