Re: House Plans COMMENTS PLEASE 15Jan 14, 2010 11:43 am Great design! loads of space and storage, and so stylish too. The decking out the back is great, hope you have nice views I love the modern, edgy ensuite with the bath in the middle, will the door placement from the decking be a problem? I notice that it opens right onto the bath area, making it necessary to close the door before you can walk into your room (this might be the purpose though, if so then very clever!). Also, is the master bedroom sized for a king-sized bed? If that is only a queen or a double bed in the plans then if you (or the next owners) have a king-sized bed you will be very cramped in there. I also alert people to the problem of 'open' walk in wardrobes - be aware that unless you have dedicated wardrobe shelving (aka IKEA) then you might be looking into a big mess whenever you look around your room! The entry is lovely and big - my favourite feeling when entering a house is being made to feel special, like your entrance is an event I notice that the hallway T-boning it has a large blank wall - you may want to ask for some feature recesses to help showcase artwork or small statues to help carry the feeling of a grand entrance. Laundry is excellent, look at all that benchspace Considered overhead cupboards? You don't really need them but I just like the look haha! It's a lovely plan Lockez, can't wait to see the finished product. Re: House Plans COMMENTS PLEASE 16Jan 14, 2010 11:55 am Vundaful! Great design! loads of space and storage, and so stylish too. Thank you so much for taking the time to write your comments Yes I have asked for a recess in the entry- love a wide enterance. and the door in the bathrrom is there for that very reason, I will look into the bed measurements : a good point raised We have cupboards each end of the robe do you think that will be enough? Thanks again Re: House Plans COMMENTS PLEASE 17Jan 14, 2010 12:52 pm My pleasure! I think some snazzy cupboard on either end of the WIR will look fantastic - they'll give the room depth and hide any clutter that storage areas like wardrobes can easily accumulate. Consider having a look at the IKEA wardrobe catalogue for ideas on how to make the most of the space between each cupboard http://onlinecatalogue.ikea.com/2010/sb_wardrobe/AUE/ Re: House Plans COMMENTS PLEASE 19Jan 18, 2010 10:17 pm LOVE your plan - it's just gorgeous. The master bedroom and ensuite are almost exactly what I had originally designed for our home, although the ensuite was off the robe =) Only thing I'd change is the refrigerator space - it looks teeny!! How wide is it? 600mm? I'd be worried about a) fitting the fridge you have, b) fitting any fridge you buy in future, c) resale of your house in future (I found a house that I LOVED a few years ago, and refused to buy it because the fridge space wouldn't fit my beautiful new F&P 520L stainless steel upside down fridge - not even a side by side thing - without either buying a new, smaller fridge or remodelling the already brand new kitchen). Otherwise, stunning house =))) Love, love, LOVE it =) Re: House Plans COMMENTS PLEASE 20Jan 18, 2010 10:41 pm Great design. I too noticed the fridge space. The other thing that bothers me is the door from the bathroom to Bed 3, unless you want it there for a reason. I don't like multiple bathroom doors because it means extra doors to remember to lock when the bathroom is in use and reduced space for towel rails.
