Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 13, 2010 9:34 pm Hi there Our wall is in progress Recycled Besser Blocks sitting in a 400mm deep footing. 4 courses high (circa 800mm high) We are building in front of the boundary lines so will be filling behind. Question re Drainage .. it's in SA, Golden Grove. Clay type Soil. Should I put a layer of something like road base behind the wall first and lay Ag pipe on top of that and then gravel on top? What sort of Ag pipe (or is there only one type)? What sort of Gravel? Reason I ask is, recent rains have washed a decent layer of dirt down behind the wall (like 100m worth). Lucky we had some weep holes in place. Thanks Re: Question: Retaining Wall Drainage 2Jan 13, 2010 9:51 pm Slotted agg pipe with CLEAN blue metal under and over cover of 200mm.
