Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Bricks or Hardiplank 2Jan 11, 2010 8:46 pm I'm not sure about hardiplank sorry. But assuming that you decided to get it, what colour would you paint it? It might help us find a brick colour that you like For what it's worth, I prefer the look/insulation of brick. Re: Bricks or Hardiplank 5Jan 11, 2010 10:31 pm LOCKEZ I love the hardiplank look but have been told it needs painting regularly, That would depend on the paint...use good quality paints and it shouldn't need any more regular painting than other light weight cladding materials. mmm....donuts Homer Simpson 1956- Links: Site Costs Ready Reckoner | H1 Addiction Medical Advice | Château TDL: The Backyard Re: Bricks or Hardiplank 6Jan 12, 2010 6:58 am I'm with TDL - 10 years should see you out with decent paint. As to whether brick or hardiplank is better, that would depend on the style of your house. Got any pics? Our previous house was a new build and constructed from this. It was great in summer as the heat dissipated quickly after the sun was off it. You can also paint the render any colour you decide. Just an idea, but it may be worth looking into. Riffa Re: Bricks or Hardiplank 14Jan 13, 2010 11:25 am Try Linear weatherboard.. same material as hardie plank but thicker. If you get good paint and the painting is done correctly you shouldn't have to paint for 10-15 years. http://scyon.com.au/linea.html Re: Bricks or Hardiplank 17Jan 13, 2010 8:34 pm LOCKEZ Why wont my pics upload!
