You will have to move them out of the way yourself, so that they don't get tossed out by the tradies. Built the Eden Brae Cambridge 34 Family with Boston Corner Facade Re: Left Over Bricks 3Jan 11, 2010 7:25 am i had roughly 1000 bricks leftover after house bieng bricked. i asked my ss if i could heave them , he said no worries. but make sure you move them as quick as possible. luckilly i was down on site when the truck came to do the site clean, as he was about to throw them in the truck and take them to the recyclers, i said to him ey ive arranged with the ss for me to have them. nobody told me hesaid. so make sure youve got them stacked out of the way.. cheers.. That's the key really, officially the builder owns them but most times an SS will let you keep them if you move them out of the way. However, builders hate taking excess bricks off site since it costs them money. So if you offer to take them off their hands, they usually jump at the opportunity. They also will provide us with x many spare roof tiles (i think its around 5). Outside of that unofficially we're told it depends on what is left over and the SS. Our SS told us we could have them but we'd need to move them into the corner of our land or once the garage was complete in there. Funny they are now maostly missing we'd be lucky to have maybe 20. How many bricks you need for a letterbox will vary depending on single/double course, just the letterbox or planter attached as well, if so how big etc etc . If you are happy with the brickies ask them if they would do it for you later and how much. So over xmas break I moved them all to the back of our place.... hard work but we now have plenty of bricks for letter box, built-in bbq etc. you need a fridgie to answer but I would think you vac the whole system then add gas if you have a leak, unless it is new install with the gas already loaded, in that case… 1 3639 Old Home Restoration / Renovation Hi, just discovered all these junks left behind under the floor.
