As this was a one-off plan we were unsure of the dimensions but so far its looking good. A little worried about the width of the two front bedrooms but hopefully once the walls go up they wont look so small. Hopefully the lines go away once the concrete is dry. http://i985.photobucket.com/albums/ae334/FiLars/Our%20House%20in%20Aubin%20Grove/DSCF2918.jpg Well hopefully it doesn't take another 4 weeks before we see action on the block again. Hopefully the pace starts to pick up for you now Re: C*ollier in Aubin Grove - Brickies have started! 25Apr 22, 2010 12:03 am Its been awhile so i thought i would update with whats been happening. After much drama with the bricks we had chosen not being available for a couple of months and the builder (and ourselves) not wanting to wait for them we were told we had to chose something else. We originally had picked the handmade Helena Vale from Midland Brick but as these were unavailable we have gone with the lighter version of the handmades called Woodbridge. And to be honest i think i prefer the new ones now i have seen them. The bricks were delivered last week and we very surprised tonight when we drove past that we have 3 complete outside walls done and the first course of internal bricks outlining the inside rooms. Didn't have the camera on me tonight but these were taken on the weekend. The shell of our house has begun! Re: C*ollier in Aubin Grove - Brickies have started! 26Apr 22, 2010 3:00 am Aww did someone knock over the Summit sign in the pic of your slab? We have been overseas for a couple of weeks and were happy to see when we got back a few days ago that our brickwork had not only finished but that the roof frame in nearly done as well. Hopefully if this rain stops this weekend we will go round and take some pics. We are absolutely loving the raked ceilings in our living areas. Cant wait for the roof and ceilings to go on. Sorry to hear yours is still stuck in council. Hopefully you get your approval soon and avoid any price increases. Cheers Fi Re: C*ollier in Aubin Grove - Roof frame nearly finished 31May 22, 2010 11:27 pm Mrs P Love your plans, how big does your total floor area come to? Hi Mrs P, glad you love the plans we fell totally in love with them too. The house itself is 250m2 living with a total area of 318m2 including alfresco and garage. So much bigger than our currently house which is only 160m2 total so im not looking forward to the extra cleaning. Went down to the block this afternoon between the rain to take some photos and were surprised that the roof looks pretty much finished. Not sure if i like the front elevation, i was expecting eaves on the front window that has the gable. I think it looks funny but DH is positive it will look better once the gutters are painted and the tiles are on. But on a happier note we are really happy with the raked ceilings and the alfresco. But one can hope! Im jelous! How long has it taken to get from slab to now? Hi Shonzilla Im glad you like the house so far. But im jealous of how quick your build is going. I just read through your thread and i cant believe you got your building approval so quickly. We waited nearly 3mths for ours. We thought we were lucky getting one of the blocks in stage 8 that was already titled but you guys in stage 9 are catching up. It has taken us 10 weeks to get from slab down to the roof frame stage. It wouldn't suprise me if your build overtakes ours. Good luck with everything and im looking forward to see how yours continues. Fi Re: C*ollier in Aubin Grove - Roof frame nearly finished 35May 26, 2010 12:40 pm Fi, it felt like a lifetime, I cant imagine 3months! I think it went through fast because it was a stockstandard block, home and maybe the fact that I made sure they got the plans (which im lucky I did call because they spelt the street wrong!) I asked them nicely to get it done before easter and i think luck was on my side because it. Do you know why it took 3months for yours to be accepted!? Waiting for titles was the thing that got me, it was almost 6 months by the time they were released! Ahh well, things are looking up for the both of us now Garden - viewtopic.php?f=19&t=44214&p=670323#p670323 Decorating - viewtopic.php?f=6&t=47218&p=715743#p715743 Re: C*ollier in Aubin Grove - PCI Wed 20th Oct 36Oct 15, 2010 8:02 pm Well it has been a long time since i posted on here but i thought i would update with a few pics. We have our PCI next Wednesday which has been a long time coming. We have had a few delays in getting work done. Mainly having to wait 2 months for a contractor to install the roof tiles but from then on everything moved pretty quickly up until the last month. With everything nearly finished the builder has decided to take their time in finishing off the last few things. But i can say they have been good in getting everything completed properly before booking in PCI. Hopefully there shouldn't be too much to fix as we have been keeping an eye on the build pretty closely and telling them of any issues we had as they arose. We have been lucky a window as left open on a couple of occasions that allowed us to get in but now the flyscreens have been put on we are officially locked out until PCI. Here are some photos we managed to get a couple of weeks ago. We are not happy with the downpipe down the front of the house but even though we have put up a hard fight the builder is still refusing to move it. Will just have to plant a large tree in front http://i985.photobucket.com/albums/ae334/FiLars/Our%20House%20in%20Aubin%20Grove/DSCF0394.jpg Alfresco http://i985.photobucket.com/albums/ae334/FiLars/Our%20House%20in%20Aubin%20Grove/DSCF0419.jpg Looking forward to getting to PCI next week and hopefully keys the week after. Have so much work to do. We want to paint the whole house before the bamboo floor is installed early November and then carpets straight after. Will try and post some more pictures of a clean house after PCI Cheers Fi Re: C*ollier in Aubin Grove - PCI Wed 20th Oct 37Oct 27, 2010 1:53 pm Fi... your house looks awesome !!!! I really love the brick colour and it's actually great to see how large/wide/high the bench spaces are e.g.: ensuite cupboard/drawers/bench space etc. Great idea with the tree to hide that gutter though! Although understandably it is a bit of a nuisance Hope to see the 'finished' product on here soon, and VERY jealous of that alfresco space! WOW!!!
