Just noticing other homes which seem to have the pad beneath it as part of the slab - or maybe it just seems that way. And what plans did you say you have for the portico flooring if any - Tiles are looking great - a really rich colour - especially for a bathroom - should be a fantastic combo with the wall paint. I guess lock-up can b a bit frustrating when you want to get inside and scout out what it will be like living there eventually... mind you, I get the impression your build is one of the fastest - is that the case? Any progress on the gable painting? Did my homework and now see what you mean about the ligher colours (i.e. self-destruct) really opening up the entry. You must be rapt with the way things are coming together. Hopefully not too much longer to go now. How apt your words are cous we're absolutely rapt and it was sooner than we thought. sanmark1 Ooooh tiling!! Soo exciting! Are you guys still on track for PCI in early November? Where are the tradies to install your kitchen and vanities!?!?!?!?! After today seems like we're definitely on track and as to where the tradies were, seemed that they were parked outside tonight when we got there flame_on A bit off-topic, but where is your hot water/gas provision - what side of the house, what is it near - and is there concrete underneath it? We don't have an area in the slab for the hws, the assumption is like most things it will just go down on a concrete tile. We're really happy with the colour its come out better than I expected, so hard to judge these things in an office on the other side of the city nearly a year ago. Lockup is frustrating, but also great at the same time and probably a time of relief for our SS Painters haven't been back, apparently they'll just come back and do it all in one go allegedly. flagstaffIV Tiles look great Belial.. Frick about the cabinets... Thanks Flaggie, more pics to follow and fortunately we have had movement on the cabinet front. corked Love the tile colour. You both have an eye for colour selection. Coming together rather nicely. I think it might be good luck rather than any natural talent though we did spend a lot of time comparing things, and after visiting as many display houses as we did we quite often used them as inspiration for what we liked and disliked and that really helped narrow down the options. After that it was just what we liked the look of, but we're really happy with the way its turning out. herbiecat Great tiles Belial! Thanks herbiecat, and now we have more and some grouted pics to follow. I thought the look would be unique Did you specifically not want downlights? I'm going the same route - they seem expensive and i just prefer a light fitting - curious if you have a philosophy around that choice - and also... have you picked out the fittings and if you have, where did you get them (am having trouble finding any i like atm). Your portico lights will rock i bet - i've seen some of them around the estate and they look great - they will really offset your entrance big-time. And check out that bench space.... great layout I think I've dedicated one entire wall to powerpoints Building with the Big M, Sandarra Settlement July 16 Site Scrape Sep 22 Slab Oct 12 Framing commenced Oct 13 Build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=39517 Re: Our Places Fairhaven 23+ in Sandarra - Cabinets 655Oct 27, 2010 7:57 am Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.......that's better! And check out that bench space.... great layout I think I've dedicated one entire wall to powerpoints Lol I suppose you could be differnent by going for the remarkably similar "dog collar" design. Downlights weren't very appealing due to the cost and the very limited range the builder has only 12V, if we were going downlights we'd be looking more in the 240V range, but we're not huge fans of them anyway. So we put in battens, and will change them over as we go. Haven't really decided on any fittings yet (and the budget is little small in that area for the moment), lots of lighting threads around if you use the search button . Beacon is good to go have a look and buy if its on sale, otherwise most of their stock is available online elsewhere at cheaper rates. Still deciding on the portico lights whether we are going round or square as the light patterns are different. Can't wait to see our benchtops on, the main thing we liked about the kitchen layout is the island bench is just that a bench, so lots of useable space, the only thing lacking is somewhere to put a microwave, so it'll be on one of the benches. Deemaree Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.......that's better! my other half was complaining that i needed to come to bed, but i knew better than to risk the ire of the mob carlswil Congratulations on you cabinets arriving. They look great. Your tiles are gorgeous. Thanks carlswil, it was such a relief to finally see them going in, we were starting to get a little anxious about when it would finally happen Quite happy with the tiling so far, I would have preferred a slightly different laying pattern in our bathroom but it looks good as it is, and isn't worth having them all taken back up and relaid over. Also really happy with how the feature strips in the showers have come out, will need to upload a close up pic tonight as the detail is lost in the wider shots.
