You'll be in your beautiful home before you know it (and I'll be jealous!! Yay =) Re: lachjor's build thread! - Totally in love... + photos 42Apr 09, 2010 6:51 pm Just picked our new pavers, what a mission! All sorted now though We were shown our other colour selections for the front of the house, one of which was the render colour. And oh my... I don't remember picking THAT colour We asked if it was too late to change our mind, and unfortunately yes it is (painter should be starting the outside next week). Hoping it doesn't look too bad once it's on the render... I've grown quite find of our natural render colour lol, and this dark blue we've picked will be a drastic change! Re: lachjor's build thread! - Totally in love... + photos 43Apr 09, 2010 9:56 pm The blue render is really quite popular around my estate - two houses have been rendered with it House is coming along really nicely! It always makes the kitchen look complete with the appliances installed. We have the same oven, woohoo! So what colour pavers did you pick ? Re: lachjor's build thread! - Totally in love... + photos 44Apr 09, 2010 11:23 pm We went with Midland Brick Handipave in Charcoal. And if this link works (??) you can see it here http://www.midlandbrick.com.au/docs/pro ... gleItem=0# Re: lachjor's build thread! - Totally in love... + photos 45Apr 09, 2010 11:26 pm Thumbs up! There's a house just down from me who used that, very nice. Re: lachjor's build thread! - Totally in love... + photos 46Apr 09, 2010 11:33 pm lachjor, I really like your border tiles. Not often do you seem them being used but I do still really love this effect. Re: lachjor's build thread! - Totally in love... + photos 47Apr 10, 2010 6:20 pm Thanks We went into the paint shop today to get a colour chart showing the "Empire Blue" that we picked for our front render, but was told unfortunately they no longer make the chart things to give out. So instead we bought a sample paint pot... not sure why, I just wanted to see the colour again before I see it on the render next week. Driving home we toyed with the idea of driving out to the block and seeing how the paint really looked on the render lol. Decided that was not such a good idea so came straight home, where I promptly dropped the sample pot while carrying a few things too many as I got out the car. Well... at least I can see what the colour looks like in natural light *giggle* It's definitely not as dark as it appears on the paint chart we originally picked it from. I like I wonder how much different ours will look. Our roof, gutters and fascias are surfmist, window frames are some version of white, can't remember what they called it. Garage door is ironstone and the render colour as above from my driveway, front bedroom window sills are ironstone. Hoping it doesn't all clash. And if this rain stops!! we might find out sometime this week (what the render will look like, at least), though don't like my chances Re: lachjor's thread! - Gutter overflow, is this normal? pho 53Apr 14, 2010 11:43 pm Hi With all the rain we've been having over the past few days, we've spotted a few issues with leaks in the roof! In a few spots we can see water marks on the eaves which we'll bring to the SS's attention. But one thing I'm not sure on is the overflow from the gutter. We have a 28c garage and where it meets with the lower gutter it's spilling water down the side of the house. Is this a big issue? Or just something to be expected with the different heights? Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: lachjor's thread! - Gutter overflow, is this normal? pho 54Apr 14, 2010 11:51 pm I would imagine so, the point of gutters is to avoid that kind of problem! Re: lachjor's thread! - Gutter overflow, is this normal? pho 55Apr 16, 2010 9:44 pm Yeah, I guess it was a stupid question! I was just worried about the SS saying it's the way it goes with the different heights. I emailed them anyway, so hopefully they get onto it soon! I imagine once the render is painted it will help seal it somewhat, and it won't absorb the water quite so much? In other news we had a light globe stolen overnight Re: lachjor's thread! - Gutter overflow, is this normal? pho 56Apr 16, 2010 10:01 pm KNOCK THE HOUSE DOWN AND START AGAIN! (this was our favourite declaration when we were painting and got paint on the cornice ) Re: lachjor's thread! - Gutter overflow, is this normal? pho 58Apr 17, 2010 12:40 am have you put a spirit level against the bottom edge of that gutter? we had this issue and when we tested i the gutter it was perfectly level but it turned out the other end of the gutter was slightly higher resulting in the lower level section retaining water and threatening to overflow. our sugestion was to add a downpipe at this point but the roof plumber felt otherwise. Roof plumber was back today raising the lower section a tiny bit to stop this happening. AND putting in 3 more downpipes, one at the point in front where the downpipe first starts to drop. Re: lachjor's thread! - Gutter overflow, is this normal? pho 59Apr 17, 2010 9:21 pm We haven't tried that (spirit level), will tell hubby and see what he thinks. I did email the customer service lady, she acknowledged she'd received the email and said she would pass it on to the ss, but I really don't expect to hear anything else back from her about it ;o Will see what happens though. We got a garage door today! They were all present and accounted for at the start of construction, but now 3 are missing. We had a dig around for them this afternoon, found one but it had been moved (was not upright in place at all), could not find the others. They are in a place where they have obviously been driven over as we have a shared access laneway at the side of our block. Our developer is supplying a fencing package, which part of the conditions state the pegs must obviously be in place. We were wanting to book our fencing in ASAP (neighbours prewarned theirs took a little while to organise), but not sure what the go is with the pegs missing? Will contact the office in the morning, but just wondering if anyone here knows? We are in South West, WA... if that makes any difference. Hi, Apologies - I know there is plenty out there on this but struggling to put together the puzzle. We're planning our garage/external laundry to master bedroom and… 0 11121 thanks Chippy, i hope they have applied sealer but i am doubt to be honest, so i am gonna do this job after handover. 8 16293 You should be able to encase the sewer but you will need it designed and approved and access to lot 580 to do the work 2 17168 |
